We’re limiting this Saturday’s Paint Your Own Piece class, to just five students! This is an old photo, from the archives. Pre-masks and social distancing. Most of these women are still painting furniture and taking classes at the shop! Our Paint Your Own Piece is one of our core classes, that we’ve taught to hundreds of people. We always have a great time and participants are always amazed what they can accomplish, in two or three hours! What you see pictured are good examples of the project size we need to work with. You provide the furniture piece and we…
Read the rest >>Greetings, one and all!, Well, today is a special day! Today my mother is celebrating her 99th birthday in heaven. Happy birthday, mom! I can’t believe it’s been 19 years, since you left this earth. I am one of four “girls” in my family. Some pretty stiff competition! It was never Ozzie and Harriet at my house, but mom taught me about entertaining, creating a home, dressing well (when needed) and to say my prayers. Happy birthday, mom! I hope you and dad are having a marvelous time! Now on to pressing news! First up, Iron Orchid Designs Sally and…
Read the rest >>Hello darling!, How’s life treating you? Well, I hope! Beyond running errands and going to the dentist, the true highlight of my week, has been getting a few new things in, restocking favorites (like Camp Craft Cocktails, satin pillow cases and puzzles) and restyling our displays! Creating new displays is one of my absolute favorite things to do! And my stylist buddy, Jennifer, has encouraged me to take more advantage of our windows, to let passerby’s to get a better idea about who we are. I spent most of Monday, pushing things around the shop, to create a new look.…
Read the rest >>Hello friend!, I don’t know about you, but I think I just finished a marathon, called 2020! I know it isn’t all going to be fixed, just because we’re in a new year, but with the vaccine and all, it has to improve soon! Let’s hope so! Mr. Wonderful and I returned home this afternoon, from a wonderful week away. Every night, I slept at least 9 hours! What a luxury! I never put on make up and some days I didn’t even shower! True confessions! Sadly, the same unanswered Christmas cards were staring at me, that were there on…
Read the rest >>Hello Friends! The selfie, above, was taken by “yours truly”. I asked Mr. Wonderful to kindly remove his purple head band, for this quick shot, but he denied my request. What can I say? We drove over to Homewood ski resort, looking for a place to walk Micah, since the bike trails are covered in snow. We found a wonderful little street, “Sacramento Street”, to explore. Very “old Tahoe”, with sweet cottages. We got a fresh few inches of snow on Christmas night. Thank goodness Santa didn’t have to fly in that weather! I whipped out my phone and…

Read the rest >>Twas the night before Tuesday, when all through the house… My dad read “The Night Before Christmas” to us five kids, every Christmas Eve, when I was a little. Read the rest >>Hello friends!, Were you able to attend our last classes, with guest instructor, Kathy, teaching how to create the Santa Tray? I was there both nights and was so impressed with her teaching style and upbeat attitude! It turns out that she’s going to be a regular, at the shop, starting in February! Years ago, she got her degree in art and has been a non-stop creative, all of her life! At this point, we aren’t sure if she’ll do classes once a week or once a month, but I imagine your interest will have a big say in the…
Read the rest >>Hello once again! By now you’ve probably heard that Sacramento county’s ICU numbers are elevated and that some businesses will not be able to operate for at least the coming three weeks. Retail businesses, like The Treasured Home, will be able to operate, at a reduced 20% capacity. This new mandate goes into effect, at around midnight on Thursday, December 10th. We’ll have a chance to offer the last of two Santa board classes, Thursday evening. If you’ve signed up, I hope you’ll join us! ____________ I haven’t been able to determine how a business’ capacity is determined. Until I…

Since our year at the shop has been better than expected, I’ve decided to start our typical after Christmas sale, now! While this will allow us to shrink our inventory,…
