More discounts and great news!

By Barbara Bussey | September 12, 2022 |

Hello, sunshine! What a delight it was, to go outdoors, without being blind-sided by the heat! Before I get to the really big news, I have some news about upcoming workshops.   First up, there’s still space in our Queen Bee class, but I wanted to let you know that you can customize the words on your framed masterpiece!  If you aren’t the Queen Bee type, maybe you’re more of a Bee Kind or Keep Smiling kind of person.  Don’t like bee’s at all? We’ve got your back!  As long as it fits the project, you’ll have plenty of choices! You can…

Two great workshops, plus new discoveries!

By Barbara Bussey | September 8, 2022 |

Hello, darling! I hope you’re managing with this ridiculous heat wave we’re living through, right now! Thank goodness someone invented A/C, because I could never live without it.  I’m ready to go out in the back yard and run through the sprinklers!  Oh, but then there’s the drought! On to better news… Three days into the “right size the shop” idea, I have decided that was a crazy-stupid decision!  The new plan is to just reduce the shop by closing off the back room.  There’s no reason to be extreme, here! There’s still the huge sale going on, so you…

A trip down Memory Lane!

By Barbara Bussey | September 2, 2022 |

Greetings! This is a long one, friend!  Grab a cup of coffee or a shot of tequila and stay a while!  Enjoy! I have so many wonderful memories of the workshops and events we’ve hosted over the years!  There were scary times too, like hosting the first workshop, shortly after we opened.  We were originally stocking Miss Mustard Seed’s Milk Paint and I was so anxious about teaching my first workshop, that I offered the class for free!  I figured that attendees wouldn’t feel cheated by poor instruction, if they didn’t pay for it!  It relieved some of the stress…

Happenings, as the shop transitions…

By Barbara Bussey | August 30, 2022 |

The one-armed paper hanger… One thing I learned this week, is that I don’t plan to make a career change at this time.  Paper hanging would be the death of me!  Thankfully, the end result made me dance!  John Travolta and I could have a blast, while the disco ball twirled!  Can’t you see it now?!   My shop sisters said they were amazed by all we fit into the smaller footprint.  There’s still more to do, but I’m feeling good about the transition. Hope you love it too!   In the workshop… We added another Pumpkulents workshop, October 22nd.…

Cabinet Painting Workshop, August 20th

By Barbara Bussey | August 7, 2022 |

Cabinet Painting Workshop Saturday, August 20, 1:00-3:30, $75.00 Have you been wanting to paint your cabinets, but don’t know where to begin? We’d like to help you get beyond the “fear factor” and do what one of our delightful customers did. Her husband was gone for the weekend, so on Friday, she stopped by the shop and reviewed the process with us. Got supplies, for less than $100, to paint this bathroom. She chose the color Raw Silk and bought 2 pints (but only needed one) to paint the bathroom and medicine cabinet. Voila! Her husband returned to find an…

New hours and days to serve you!

By Barbara Bussey | August 1, 2022 |

The only thing that stays the same is change! Hello, sweetness, I had a relaxing weekend at Lake Tahoe and wanted to share this beautiful sunrise photo Mr. Wonderful took the other morning.  As you see, he likes to rise at the “crack of dawn”.  Me, not so much! Now, where was I? Yes, just when you figured out we’re open on Wednesday’s, we’re mixing it up again!  Now, we’re open Tuesday’s, too and closed Sunday’s. We really don’t make these changes casually. Lots of factors come into play…especially what works for you.  If I had a magic wand, we’d…

Oh, the things I’ve seen!

By Barbara Bussey | July 26, 2022 |

Shopping at Market… Hello, sweetness! No matter what I do at Market, I’m always looking at displays! Good displays are like artwork and I always strive to learn and do better, at the shop! For instance, look how this cutting board display was made! Creative and impactful! Shopping with a friend… For an extra treat, my sister-in-law, Marcella, joined me. She owns a shop in Paris, Texas and normally shops at the Dallas Market.  It was great to have a shopping buddy.  Lots of good laughs, too! We met at baggage pick up, in Las  eggs and I was having…
