Our Dining Room Gets Ready For Congressman Lungren October 1, 2011
Last spring, at the annual Cristo Rey High School Scholarship Dinner, we auctioned off dinner in our home with our area’s Congressman Lungren. Tomorrow’s the big night and we’re looking forward to a great evening with interesting conversation, new friends and delicious food. With the place all decked out, I thought that this would be a good time to invite you into our dining room!
Remember the flower arrangement I made earlier this week (in 5 nominates for $19)? Well, here it is!
Mr. Wonderful and I bought the oil painting on our first Valentine’s Day together, 13 lucky years ago, and my parents bought us the Cupid, for a wedding present.
Our dear friend, Moka Davis, Sacramento entertaining guru supreme, will be our chef for the evening. We’ll start of with a creamy squash soup, following appetizers, then a salad with a slice of onion tart, followed by Chicken Marbella, served with grits. Moka says that he’s adding cheese to the grits and that they a lighter alternative to polenta. Whatever you say, Moka! The finale will be some sort of chocolatey thing he serves in antique tea cups and coffee, of course. All I have to remember is serve from the right and pick up from the left…or is it the other way around?
The place looks great! Enjoy~
Good morning, Jane! Thanks!
Everything looks lovely! Hope it all goes well…enjoy! 🙂
Just beautiful. Sounds like a fun evening.
Thanks, Kim and Barbara! I’ll take pictures!
Oh Barbara, your home is gorgeous! LOVE LOVE LOVE your dining room table!
You’re a sweetheart! The room doesn’t get nearly as much use as our eat-in kitchen, but it’s fun to use for special occasions…especially when I have great help!
