Greetings! We’re getting down to the home stretch! In just three months, Jill and I will head for the south of France, with a small group of women. Our task, will be to fill a container with old French treasures. This is the trip I’ve dreamed of! It will be Jill’s first trip to Europe and I’ll be so happy to open this door for her! I’ve been quite a few times, but have never had the opportunity to bring back anything bigger than a bread box! Stay tuned! Classes this weekend: Cabinet Painting Workshop, Saturday, 1-4 : Are you tired…
Greetings, gorgeous! Yes, you! What this vintage mama has learned, is that it’s not the holidays that matter, nearly as much as how we make each other feel, throughout the year. (Deep, huh?) Mr. Wonderful and I will exchange cards and we’ll make a nice dinner together, in the evening. Gin rummy and dominoes and the evening news. What more could I ask for? On to more interesting things, if I was willing to battle the crowds at a local restaurant, on Valentine’s Day, Bob and I just discovered a new, to us, restaurant. It’s in the Pavillions, for you…
Hello sweetness! Happy February! We have been painting fools lately! Here’s a quick update… Mom and Dad would be proud to sit at their beautiful Henredon dining room table. We refinished this beauty and deepened the stain, with General Finishe’s Gel Stain. The process brought back so many memories, of Sunday dinners and Mom’s grand dinner parties, entertaining their friends. Mom would bring out the crystal, silver, flowers and china, to serve her delicious food. (Guess who the clean up crew was?! You guessed it! My sisters and Me!) She knew how to entertain! (The picture above shows the table…

I hope your holidays were filled with peace and joy! We escaped to Lake Tahoe, for a white Christmas. (This photo was taken on Christmas morning, facing north.) This photo was taken near sunset, on Christmas, from a similar vantage point. What a difference! By the way, we don’t normally make so many visits to the beach, after a snow, but it was one of the flatter areas we could walk our grand dog, to avoid the ice! We didn’t have our kids home for Christmas, this year, so we were very happy Jill and Cassie shared Micah with us!…
