How To Create a Gorgeous Centerpiece For $19 In 5 Minutes September 27, 2011
I probably should have been a florist, because I get so much joy out of creating a flower arrangement. While at the nursery this morning, buying shrubs, I picked up 2, 4-inch gerbera daisies and one decorative kale, along with 3, 3-inch mums (grand total $18 plus tax). I wasn’t sure what I’d do with them, but thought they’d probably end up by the front door or maybe in the kitchen.
Then the patron saint of flower arranging spoke to me…”Use these for your centerpiece, for this weekend’s dinner party!” She pointed me to a flat, open basket in the pantry that would be perfect! So, without further ado, here’s what you do…
1. Find a flat basket large enough to hold your potted flowers.
2. Line the basket with plastic, to prevent leaks onto your table top.
3. Arrange the potted flowers in the basket. I used the smaller 3″ mums to fill in the holes.
4. Cover as much of the plastic pots with Spanish moss ($1 at Dollar Tree) as you can.
Voila!
This is my kind of DIY project! Hold the applause, please, and have a wonderful day!
lovely! I don’t have the knack for flower arranging (wish I did) but I think I could do this one!
Without a doubt, Barbara! Thanks for stopping by!
