Chelsea, a Great NYC Neighborhood for Designers August 14, 2011
Thanks to my daughter, graduating from boot camp (“Beast”) at West Point, Mr. Wonderful and I were able to spend a couple of days in Manhattan.
While there, we explored a neighborhood filled with a plethora of eye candy for folks like me. We spent the day walking through kitchen and bath showrooms, like the Chelsea Design Center. The decorative hardware on display was extensive, to say the least.
There were lovely antiquities at New York Galleries on 25th Street.
This gorgeous oil was only $8,000, with a 20% discount for cash payment.
Now here’s a lovely antique bronze light fixture that I’d work hard to find a spot for!
The Pippin Vintage Jewelry Shop hides a vintage furniture shop in the bag, but don’t go out of your way to reach either shop.
And of course, no visit to the “Big Apple” is complete without a visit to a discount retailer!
I snagged several pillow covers that I just love!
Mr. Wonderful took me to lunch at one of New York’s finest dining establishments. Pizza and a drink for $2. Tasty too!
Life is good! Enjoy your day!
I can’t believe the pillow covers from TJ Maxx! I’ve never seen any at my store. Hmmmm, maybe I’ll go take a look again on this rainy day!
