I hope you’ll join me on my never-ending search for beautiful pieces, with history, for your home. Find my curated treasures, in Booth #154, at the Antique Trove, in Roseville, CA. ~ Barbara
If you’re like me, you have an old dusty wreath out in the garage, somewhere. I happen to have one such wreath, full of cobwebs and who knows what else, even though I keep it covered with plastic. So, this morning, after letting Mr. Wonderful know that I would be working many evenings on projects in the next month, just so he would be warned, not expecting a hot meal each evening, I proceeded to spend time on another wreath project. Not for the shop, but for our front door. For the good of our own home! Much needed, of…
Read the rest >>I was happy to hear that my hot pink desk set has found a new home! In a color like hot pink, you never know if someone else will love it as much as you do! A few of my gift show orders have come in and I placed another order today! Sort of like Christmas! I’ve chosen paint colors for the shop, in the greige and mossy green tones. Bob started building a craft “island”, with wheels for the shop. There’s lots to do! We went to mass last night, instead of this morning. I had a hard time…

Not me. I have come up with 50 ways (nearly), to use blue and white ticking. First and foremost on everyone’s must-have list, are blue-and-white ticking tassels! You do have your blue and white ticking pinwheel, don’t you? And no one’s life is quite complete, without a blue and white sachet. And since more is never enough, one must wrap their lavender in blue…

Its not because she does all that she does! It’s simply the moniker she earned as a kid, from her family!) Debbie is a big-hearted mom of two teenage sons, who stays very busy! If I haven’t bored you to tears with our house pictures, I hope you’ll visit both of us at her place! (Painted wine bottles, created by Debbie and her G-friends, while…
Read the rest >>Well, it’s been more than two years since our son lived in this room. Trust me, it looked completely different then! The bed and nightstand came from our condo in San Francisco and this wonderful chest was purchased, not long ago, from an estate sale. The fiber glass plantation shutters do a wonderful job keeping the heat out of the room, in the afternoon. So, I’m not going to worry about covering the sweet little window. Speaking of sweet, I am a sucker for anything dog related. I got this little statue at Veranda, several months ago, and just love…

Of course, before shopping for art and antiques, one has to find nourishment and Hi Hand has a wonderful restaurant! Shopping is a natural activity once fed, so we headed for the Antique Trove. I found a number of great pieces at great prices. A fun time was had by all. Back to the salt mines tomorrow!

Before… After… What’s another two hours spent painting? Actually, it was more fun than stripping a poor little table this morning! Just another Monday, living in the lap of luxury! What did you do today?
Read the rest >>Hi there, Where did the day go? I’ve been at the shop now for about six hours, painting three old paneled doors. I got them from a man who was remodeling some old houses. They were pretty sad when I bought them, for $20 apiece. Another Craigs list special! Kind of groadie, huh? I saw old doors used as a backdrop, painted by the lovely young lady who writes the Salvage Collection. You know how things can change, but I’m thinking about using them tied together somehow, as a backdrop for whatever I have in my window at the new…

This is that the style I decided to go with… I understand that it comes from Georgia and that since the trucks are taking longer to fill these days, I shouldn’t expect it to arrive any day soon! But, we’ve lived with the coffee stained white carpet this long. I’m sure we can wait a little bit longer. Now, back to business! Feeling kind of crafty this afternoon I decided to make a…
