I hope you’ll join me on my never-ending search for beautiful pieces, with history, for your home. Find my curated treasures, in Booth #154, at the Antique Trove, in Roseville, CA. ~ Barbara
Hello, princess! I hope you’ve been soaking up the blue skies, these last few days, like I have! I walked Micah this morning, so thankful for blue skies and the birds singing! It’s been busy, here at The Treasured Home, so let’s get started! More kimonos arrived, and our Linda makes a beautiful model! Mr. Wonderful and I took a quick trip, up to Lake Tahoe, on Thursday afternoon. We wanted to make sure the place was still standing! Thankfully, everything was in good shape…but look at our “lake view”! We are guessing that there will be snow on the…
Read the rest >>Hello, good looking! Thanks to all of you who joined our Demo Day, last Sunday! We were happily packed with smiling, creative faces. Now that I’ve finally “cracked the (Inlay) code”, I’m making plans on my next project…a beautiful antique buffet, that will get this beauty on it’s center drawers. The inlay is called “Summer Villa” and I’m excited! Before that happens, this piece needs a bit of prep work. Not my favorite part of the process, but just as important as any other step. So, stay tuned! Just finished… I found this piece on Facebook Marketplace, in great shape…

Read the rest >>Are you feeling Irish, today? I’m what I’ve heard to be Heinz 57. According to my limited ancestry research, I’m mostly of Western European origin. There’s a dab of Irish in me, but who needs that, to enjoy corned beef and cabbage? I remember as a kid, going to Catholic school, there was no green on my uniform and I had no cute pony tail with a green ribbon, like some lucky girls. ???? So, a few of us would say we had green underwear, knowing that it was a safe bet, no one would see my knickers! Silly story,…
Read the rest >>Hello, dear heart! At this point, I’m so thankful for every gorgeous ray of sunshine! How about you? Do I even need to ask? One thing’s for sure, our lakes and reservoirs will be full, this spring. I just wish there were a few more reservoirs, to contain more of this beautiful rain water! This is our igloo house, at Lake Tahoe, before some wonderful men started to remove lots of snow from the roof, this past week! Bob sent me this photo and I couldn’t figure out where it was taken. Then he told me that it was taken…
Read the rest >>Hello, dear one! Do you like to cook? I do…most days. This time of year, I love soups, stews, Italian dishes and roasted chicken…which is Bob’s specialty. I love to have friends over, but struggle with ideas for appetizers and dessert. Probably because there’s never enough time. What are your favorite easy appetizers? I’d love to know! When I’ve been in a real pinch, I’ve found that the old…drum roll, please…Lipton onion soup dip, with potato chips is still a big favorite! This week, I made baby twice baked red potatoes. Delish! Trader Joe’s sells bags of about a dozen…

We’ll be working with a new Iron Orchid Designs mould! The detail achieved with IOD moulds is amazing! We’ll be using paper clay, to create the moulds and create this one-of-a-kind terra cotta pot. Your neighbors will be envious! 🙂 While we’re together, I’ll demonstrate how to use I.O.D. Paint Inlays. After some trial and error, I think I’ve got the process figured out and would love to share it with you! Unlike IOD transfers, that…
