Works In Progress August 28, 2014
What a week! We’ve been busy and I want to share just a few projects we’re working on.
This bistro table used to be a cherry finish, that has been updated, using Amy Howard’s Graphite One Step paint. One of my top favorites!
The three pieces, including the stools, painted in Linen and recovered, in a grain sack style fabric, are now in the front of the shop, to greet visitors. I wish I had been thoughtful enough to photograph the before version!
Have you ever seen a cobbler’s rack? This is turn of the century goodness that could be used as a wine rack, a pie rack, you name it!
What about a little stencil work? The curio cabinet needed some love! I had thought about adding bead board to the back of the cabinet, for added texture and interest. But to keep the costs down, stenciling seemed like a wonderful alternative.
The cabinet makes a great display case for our jewelry pieces, but I’m sure you can think of other uses!
Now, if you’re like me, you’ve seen about 17,000 pieces of French Provincial furniture like this. We decided this would e a perfect piece to try a new technique out on. I’ve got to perfect the technique, but so far, I love it! It’s a great alternative to distressing.
What do you think? Yes, it could be better, but I know that there’s a ton of potential with this process! Class?
Stay tuned…there’s more to come!
And don’t forget to join us for Girl’s Night Out on September 10th! Sales, raffle prizes, new items, wine and nibbles! 4-6:30, WEDNESDAY, September 10th!
Remember, Amy Howard’s One Step increases from $32 to $34/quart, next week!
Barbara,
Your shop looks so beautiful. I wish I were closer ( Virginia) All the pieces are so pretty and made fantastic transitions . I especially love the new graphite paint. It has a beautiful finish ! But that cabinet with the stenciling in the back is so gorgeous. Wouldn’t it look great in a French Country kitchen with Creamware in it and also have the cabinets done in the same color and hardware ?! I can think of so many-also a bathroom ! I love looking through your beautiful store. Enjoy your week-end .
Warmly.
Kathu
How Sweet of you, Kathy! You’ve got a lot better access to Ironstone, than I have! Is Creamware similar/the same? I love Ironstone and can never get enough! Thanks for the VERY kind words! They mean a lot! Have a wonderful weekend!, Barbara
This is simply GORGEOUS!!! I love it
