Shop closure reminder…and my favorite travel tips. September 10, 2024
Hello, gorgeous!
While visiting the “boys” in Virginia, I wanted to remind you that the shop is closed until this Saturday, the 14th.
Growing strong!
James has grown a lot, since my last visit, 3 months ago! The park is his favorite place to go and he lets you know, if he doesn’t want to do something!
Travel tips…
My plane for Paris doesn’t leave until 10:30 this evening, so I thought I’d share how I pack for two weeks, with a carry-on suitcase and under the seat bag. Just some simple tips that might be useful on your next adventure.
- Don’t pack anything that can’t be worn in multiple ways. Everything you choose should be of the same color pallet, so it’s easy to mix and match.
- Scarves can make the sweater you wear, look different, and they don’t take much space.
- Don’t take expensive jewelry, or anything you’d be heartbroken to lose.
- I make a paper copy of my passport, I.D. and credit cards and stash it in the lining of my carry on. Just in case.
- I don’t check luggage. I’ve seen too many people lose luggage. Not good! Besides, who has the energy to schlep big bags around!?
- Wear the big stuff, like tennis shoes and coats on the plane.
- If you might be shopping, pack a light weight bag, that you can check, on the way home. Last trip to Paris, I bought an extra suitcases there. Not ideal.
- Watch the 10-day weather forecast for your destination. The forecast changed after I had selected things to pack and I was able to make adjustments.
- Darlene shared a great tip. She always wears glasses and pack a second pair, in case of breakage or loss.
This toiletry case has been space saving for me and with little counter space, it can just hang on a door. (Amazon)
I told you about this new crossbody, at the shop. I can fit my glasses, passport, coin/credit card holder and lipstick in it. Pick-pocketers are alive and well, where tourists can be found. Wearing a cross-body bag, I can keep it in front of me, where it’s visible. You can find it here.
Make a list a check it twice. Other than your passport and credit cards, everything is probably available, where you’re headed, so try not to stress.

Until we meet again, keep smiling!
