Pillow Addict June 11, 2012
Hello!
As you may have gathered, I’m consumed by pillows these days! That may be putting it mildly.
In fact, I’ll go so far as to say, I’ll bet I’ve made more pillows this month than anyone on my block!
While I’ve got some gorgeous linen pillows in the shop, what’s unique about most of these (besides the toile) pillows, is that all of the materials are old, repurposed vintage classics.
I hope others like them, because I love making them and I certainly don’t have enough places to use all of these pillows!
In fact, Ann Marie, my Tech Guru, is helping me build an on-line shop right now, to help keep the world in pillows! Can there ever be enough? We’ll see.
Here’s the hard part. Pricing. 22″ Pillow covers, with pocket closures, will be in the $39 range. $45 with poly inserts $49 with feather/down inserts Please let me know if you think this sounds fair. I need your thoughts on this. Honestly!
Tomorrow, I’m excited to be doing a mini one-day make-over, for a young woman with a darling home. The challenge is that she’s renting the home and can’t change the owner’s paint colors. The colors are all very earthy and masculine, so my task is to lighten the look and make the space more about her. This is going to be fun!
Until next time, happy trails!
Barbara your pillows are beautiful! Looking forward to your online shop.
Thanks, Martina!
Wow, love the pillows. The toile looking one is stunning, and the paisley one in the back. Can’t wait to meet the new shop. I’ve bought decorative pillows on Etsy. I’m sure the neighbors are whipping out their sewing machines as we speak now that you’ve thrown down a pillow making challege….
I hear the humm of little Singers sewing around me! Or, is that the air conditioner?
You already know I love your pillows and I think your pricing is very competitive. The fun thing about your shop will be that you use vintage fabrics and I think people will be drawn to that.
Thanks, Gretchen! I hope you’re right!
Your pillows are lovely Barbara!
Thanks, Barbara! Much appreciated, from the Goddess of Linen!
