My Favorite Things October 13, 2013
Yoo-Hoo! Ever since I loaded a new software update, my computer and blog software stopped talking to each other!
Thankfully, my techie friend, Ann Marie came to the rescue! I don’t know what I’d do without her!
I thought I’d check in with you and let you know what’s going on at the shop!
The free shipping and Anniversary Specials are good just through the end of the month, so now’s the time to stock up!
without bonding agent (primer), are possibly over! Life is just surprising enough, without wondering if, or how a piece of furniture is going to turn out without it!
Tip of the Day!: For a butter smooth finish, using milk paint, “wet” sand, by applying hemp oil to your piece and sanding right over the oil. Works like a dream!
I’ve been shopping like a mad woman for the holidays! I love these new scarves and have more on the way! In fact, we’ll be celebrating a Holiday Open House on Thursday, November 14th, from 6-9 pm!
Reckless Blenders will be pouring their wines, David Peterson, a local water colorist, will be showing some of his new works and finally, Palm reader, Anna Esparza will be there, to add to all the fun! Of course, the shop will be decked out for the Christmas season!
If someone on your shopping list likes to entertain, we have wonderful cutting boards for $39.00. They make for a very striking presentation, no matter what you’re serving!
More of the Holiday cookbooks have arrived! My favorite new cookie recipe is Almond Bark, found in this book.
I used our reversible, re-usable placemats for our last small dinner party, and they looked great!
I found some pretty special hotel silver plate recently. It’s from San Francisco’s historic St. Francis Hotel on Union Square. I’m guessing it’s from the 1920’s. It will be on display in the shop soon!
These 12 Wedgewood china plates were found at my neighbor’s estate sale. I never knew her well, but knew that she didn’t drive.
Her next door neighbor knew her better and told me that she always dressed as though she was going out to lunch, wearing a dress, complete with accessories. Maybe she wanted to look her best, as she did, when her husband would come home from work each day.
I hope they ‘re back together, having cocktails in heaven. They do serve cocktails there, don’t they?
Well, that’s all for now. I’ll be checking in from New York City, soon!
You have some beautiful items in your shop! Love that table…and that scarf! Too bad you don’t sell those online…cutting boards too!
Yes, cocktails in heaven would be fun wouldn’t they! Enjoy your weekend! 😉
