Greetings, from the shop! March 1, 2022
Hello, darling!
It’s Tuesday night, as I write to you. I’m in my jammies, with a clean face, covered with an extra dose of cream, that sadly doesn’t seem to have the same magic powers it used to have. Oh well!
Demo Day…
As you see, from my chalk masterpiece, in the photo above, this Saturday is Demo Day!
Best of all it’s a free introduction to both Iron Orchid Designs, (transfers, moulds and stamps), 11:00-12:00 and …
Fusion Mineral (furniture) Paint, from 1:00-2:00 p.m.
My goal is to give you the confidence to try one or both of the product lines, on your own, at home. And if you aren’t quite ready to go it alone, we offer lots of classes, to walk you through projects at the shop, with plenty of adult supervision! 🙂
Check out our class calendar, Here!
New arrivals…
I saw this gallery wrapped piece at market, in January. It’s sort of my mantra right now. It’s about 30 x 30”, so I can’t miss it. I’m hoping it will remind us all, that no matter our age, that each day matters. There are all sorts of reasons to put x, y, or z, off until another day, but why?
I unpacked some new Cut Loose today. It’s always fun to unpack things that I ordered months ago! Cut Loose is unique, in that they make everything to order. You have the different cuts and fabric options and it’s up to each shop buyer to select fabric colors they think their customers will love.
If you see something in the Cut Loose line that you like, but we don’t have your size, just let us know and we can special order pieces, if available.
Today’s delivery was all linen, so its back to the steamer! I’m going to do a “fashion show” this week, I promise!
Do you follow us on Facebook? I know lots of you don’t use Facebook, but it’s the best way for me to share shop news, besides this blog post. Anyway, my very low-budget fashion shows, can be found at www.facebook.com/thetreasuredhome.
Just to keep things confusing, I’ve added a second sale rack, at the shop and just added some new pretties. Be sure to check it out, next time you’re in.
Last weekend, I had one of my many brilliant ideas. I decided to create a quite work space in the back of the boutique. While I detest computer work, it’s part of the package. (To put paper work off as long as possible, I decorated the back of this antique desk, with I.O.D. transfers. Nice, eh?) So I’m going to see how this spot works for getting stuff done while being able to help you, should you need it.
While Easter is six weeks away, it’s arrived at the shop. How amazing is that!?
While at market, I found some beautiful charcuterie boards at great prices! These beauties are made of hardwood and are food safe! They’re great sizes for small gatherings, too!
My mother loved flowers! She rarely bought flowers at the market, but instead cut them from the garden. She could grow them and arrange them, beautifully. I’d watch her and admire her talent. Maybe a little bit of her talent rubbed off on me. I’d like to think it did! Even with silk flowers, you can enjoy the same creative energy, arranging faux greenery, as you can with the real deal! I’m happy to help, if you ever want to bring in a container to fill with faux flowers and greenery. Just let me know!
Well, there you have it! Tomorrow morning is Bible study at Fair Oaks Church. I have to work to get my studying done each week, but we have a great group and it’s been a wonderful learning experience. Growing up Catholic, the Bible wasn’t focused on, as it is in other religions. It’s like a giant history book! If you’d ever like to sit in on a weekly session with me, let me know! I’d love to introduce you to the group!
Have a great day!
XO, Barbara
