Dreaming of a Home Studio June 12, 2012
I’m dreaming of a studio. A place with lots of windows, where I don’t have to put my toys away at the end of the day.
Judging from the fact that there are more than 48,000 images of “art studios” on Houzz.com, I guess I’m not the only one with this idea!
Now, some of the studios I found are a bit over the budget top, but still they’re beautiful.

High ceilings and big windows that slide open…now that’s what I call living!
Granted this little jewel box, covered in ivy, doesn’t have the big windows, but isn’t it charming?
Isn’t this “garage door” wonderful?
I love the idea of a covered porch. I can see myself sitting there, protected from the falling rain or with the sun behind me.
Isn’t this studio a big fat slice of heaven?
Besides big, long work tables, I would have comfy furniture that’s kinda funky. Nothing serious!
Aren’t they wonderful? Great music, drop cloths on the floor…Wonder Dog nearby…heavenly!
What’s on your wish list lately?
I would love my own studio space. I currently have to share my home office with my creating space. It is very crowded and more work for the business gets done in it in stead of having fun creating.
My home office has windows facing east, west and south. Would be perfect for an artists studio! If only I had that talent, but alas it is not so. My gardens are my creative outlet and of course enjoying the work of all the other talented and creative people out there like you. God bless.
I ache looking and longing for some of these spaces. I currently share a 800 sq. ft. space with good light and am lucky to have something but having been at this for 12 years and making it my full-time profession (painter) I feel I deserve so much more. But so many circumstances have held it from happening now that I have to love what I have in order to appease the suffering and longing for what I want. Great blog, thanks for the article.
I would love, love a craft room/sewing room. Just somewhere that wasn’t my kitchen counter for crafts and the guest bedroom for sewing. I would love to have everything in one place where I could just reach out and grab it if I needed something. Oh to dream…
