Dear diary… May 11, 2025

Dear diary…

I’m sorry I haven’t written in forever, but this new retired life is very strange! But wonderful!

I’ve also asked myself why would anyone else want to know what former shop owners do, when they “go out to pasture”!
So here’s the deal… somewhere here, probably at the bottom of the page, is an “unsubscribe” option and I won’t feel bad if you decide it’s time for us to part ways. 🙂

_________

March 1st, I became a vendor at the Antique Trove.

Cheryl made the fancy QR code for me, so you can link to my Instagram page and see what’s new. Fancy, eh?!

I’ve had so much fun in this little space and have already put in a request for a larger spot! So retirement Rule #1: Have an idea of how you plan to fill your free time.

I had made a short list of things to pursue, including golf, pickleball, oil painting, trying new recipes, etc. So far, searching for treasures is keeping me busy.

I bought and sold these chairs…

…found this darling antique child’s desk set,

Visited my sister in Alamo and went thrifting, while she played golf. (a bust!)

I can now see great out of one eye. The other eye is waiting patiently.

Bob and I have been up to Tahoe. We’ve got a couple of favorite restaurants on the west shore. This was Cinco de Mayo at Shadyside Lounge, where we are typically the oldest people in the joint! No worries!

My darling shop sisters have had a couple of spills! Darlene has screwed up her knee and has to stay off her leg until the end of the month. We’re hoping and praying for good news, when she gets in to see the doctor again.
Then Cheryl and friends were vacationing in Capitola, staying at the “house of stairs”, when she took a tumble. She had ankle surgery last week!  Linda and I are grabbing for the guard rail, when ever we can, to keep from being #3 and #4!

__________

You may remember that Darlene and I, along with a few others are heading to Aix en Orovence at the end of September, with Jill as our tour guide. The focus is all about beautiful scenery, food, wine and vintage markets. We have room for two more ladies, if this is of interest to you. Just reply to this email and I’ll send you the details. 🙂

Soeaking of travel…

Betsy and family are being transferred to Colorado. We’re excited to have Betsy, Landi and Olivia closer to home.
So…Betsy and I are driving one of their vehicles from New Jersey to Colorado, at the end of the month. Road trip!
