Thoughts About Spiritual Well-Being Do you believe in God, or a supreme being? This may be a surprising and possibly uncomfortable question, posted here, since I am most often writing about the material world, as I know it. One of the benefits of getting older though, for me, is a better understanding of my spiritual existence. I have shed most religious rituals, for a stronger relationship with God and my purpose, here on earth. It’s all sort of like painting a piece of furniture. Yes, that’s what I said! There isn’t just one way, to complete the project. We all have…

In 12 days, the kids arrive and there are still a few details to take care of! This was our living area… …and here was our 1958 kitchen. The kitchen was demo’ed and the guys found that ply wood had been used, instead of sheet rock. (Not as good of a moisture, fire or sound barrier) So, they boosted the insulation and added sheet rock, in the living room and kitchen. Electricians added lots of LED…

Upstairs, is 95% complete, so that’s where we are spending our time, while downstairs is in the works. I am hoping downstairs will be livable, when the kids arrive for Christmas! A lot of dust will fly, between now and then! Bob texted the following pictures to me, in progress, so here you go… …
Read the rest >>Good morning, Before I get ready for my day at the shop I thought I would show you a few things going on around the house. I absolutely love the beauty of vintage European linens. I bought this one recently from a wholesaler who travels back-and-forth to the Netherlands. I could bring them into the shop and the price would be about $68 each. Let me know if you’re interested. Our kitchen is probably my favorite room in our home. It’s often a mess, but it’s surrounded with windows and it’s a happy place. I lov…
Read the rest >>Greetings, lovebirds!, This small scale antique buffet was updated recently, with Amy Howard’s One Step Paint, in a wonderful color called Brook’s Grey. Yeah, I know that it doesn’t look grey at all, so don’t shoot the messenger. Great color, though, with a black glaze on top. By the way, the cow hide rug is for sale… Then there’s this table and chair (9 chairs available) project that’s a great example of the different finishes you can achieve using milk paint. The Queen Anne style chairs naturally distressed, all by themselves and the oak table didn’t chip at all. Nancy,…

Especially, while enjoying Jeopardy, Wheel of Fortune and Fox News. I was happy when my little sister, who had inherited these cained back sweethearts, gave them to me for my birthday. Springs were gone and they needed some serious love! The product of choice was General Finishes’ Gel Stain, in Java. While we paint so much of the furniture that comes into our shop, I didn’t think that was the right choice for…
Read the rest >>Greetings! I hope that this beautiful fall day finds you well! While new treasures seem to arrive daily, our focus right now is finding fun new pieces to make your holiday home extra gorgeous. They’ll make their debut, in time for our Vintage Holiday Market, Sunday November 1st! Having vendors at the shop has really been a treat for me. I think I enjoy seeing what they bring in, as much as you do! We still have a few spots left, for shop vendors, who share a similar aesthetic, “look”, or what ever you want to call it!…
