Seeking Vendors at The Treasured Home!

By Barbara Bussey | March 2, 2016 |

Love vintage treasures, repurposed finds and the thrill of the hunt? Are you currently a vendor at another shop?  Looking to become one? The Treasured Home takes pride in offering quality furniture and home decor at fair prices, in a welcoming environment. While we opened the shop over three years ago, we just started adding vendors into the mix, 6 months ago. Julie, in the corner window, facing the bike shop, is moving out soon.  She’s been a great addition to the shop, but she needs to focus on her counseling practice. Most customers never know we have vendors, because our…

News from The Treasured Home Vintage Market

By Barbara Bussey | February 24, 2016 |

We got new spring and summer scarves in yesterday.  The linen scarves are light as a feather!  We also have a few that are quite large…as seen in the photo, above.  You could wear this as a scarf, a swimming suite cover up, or even a table cloth!  Take your pick! Yes, that’s Bob’s coffe cup, you see on the asphalt.  We were at the shop, last Sunday morning at 6:30 a.m., to welcome Nah, from Good Day Sacramento!   They filmed on site, right at the shop!  It was worth losing a little beauty sleep over! A link to the…

Dear Mr. Wonderful, has worked so hard!  He has more energy than some men, half his age!  We’ve had some wonderful sub contractors help as well. Today, he’s installing bead…

Life Lessons from an Old European Grain Sack

By Barbara Bussey | January 31, 2016 |

Greetings!, You know I love old European grain sacks.  The texture, the personalized monograms and how you can repurpose these old sacks, used by farmers, into table runners, pillows, aprons, or upholstery fabric.  I kinda think I’m one of millions, with a heart felt attraction to these things. On a recent buying trip, I wanted to find a big stack of sacks.  My inventory was pretty low. I quickly found a dozen, or so, that I loved and moved on to some other treasures.  While I take all old sacks home, to soak, wash and iron, you never know how…

By Barbara Bussey | January 26, 2016 |

Greetings!, Mr. Wonderful took this picture, at sunrise the other day.  We have been getting so much snow, this year, making travel back and forth, challenging. I haven’t been up there nearly as much as I’d like. We’re still a couple of months away from having the floors installed, downstairs.  I think I’ll just wait until then, to share more.  There’s only so many in-progress photos you want to see! We had a great furniture painting class on Saturday.  This darling woman, is starting a new chapter in life and was thrilled with her newest accomplishment! By the way, if…

Close Out Sale on Miss Mustard Seed’s Milk Paint!

By Barbara Bussey | December 31, 2015 |

Dear Marian, I’ve loved your Miss Mustard Seed’s Milk Paint line. I was proud to be one of the first retailers to stock the line, in my shop and on my blog.  It was exciting to see the line grow! I’ve loved how milk paint can provide one of the most authentically aged, chippy looks possible! Unfortunately, milk paint is no longer profitable for us to carry.   We’ve  deliberated about this decision for months, but the time has come to “cut the cord”.  The price increase, effective January 1st, helped make the final decision easier. So, effective immediately, as long as…
