Ceiling Fan Make-Over April 8, 2012
Greetings!
If you were here last week, when I decided to turn my shiny brass ceiling fan into a an updated gorgeous ceiling fan, I have good news!
As you may recall, I got in way over my head! After some help from Mr. Wonderful and some research on the Internet, I found that my only option was to spray paint the shiny brass pieces of the fan.
It would have been a real inexpensive project, but of course I had to try out about four different metal colors before deciding on the one I like best.
It turns out that my favorite was from Krylon, called Metallic Shimmer in a
soft silvery color.
So, there you have it! Now I can go to sleep at night and wake up in the morning looking at this pretty silver color instead of shiny brass. My whole world is looking better already!
Thank you so much for stopping by today! I hope you have a wonderful week!

I love your ceiling fan now! What a great way to update something you already had.

Do you guys ever rest???? Good job.
You should see our list of unfinished projects. Poor Bob, I’m a slave-driver! Ha!
Love the new look…
Thanks, Shirley! it’s minor, but I no longer have to wear sunglasses, while sitting in bed! 🙂
It looks great! Mine still looks the same…LOL!

It only took me ten years!
It is just all in the details, I love the new look Barbara!

Hi Karena!, Thanks for stopping by!
Wow! An amazing difference! Love it!…hugs…Debbie
I love that you updated your fan rather than having to purchase a new one. Very “green” of you!
That looks terrific! I am sure it was a hassle, taking it down and all, but what a great result for you.
Love it!

Did you dissemble the fan first to spray just the brass parts?
Yes, she did. She most likely had to rough sand them before she painted them.
Boy, this project was from years ago! Before I knew anything about painting! I did nothing, except spray the parts with silver spray paint. Still looks good!
