Time Friendly Fall Decorating October 4, 2011

Not surprisingly, I’ve been so impressed with all of the creative geniuses posting tutorials on hand made autumn wreaths, Halloween trees, pumpkin decoupage, pumpkin carving…you name it and it’s being done beautifully.

I, on the other hand, am here to show you the Lazy Approach to Fall (“LAF”!) and what you can do with a few pumpkins, flowers and a wreath that shows up, year after year.

Don’t forget the 5-minute/$19 centerpiece. I’m really getting mileage out of this baby! It’s moved from the hardly used dining room, to the kitchen table! Along with my recycled straw pumpkins, and don’t forget the squash sitting on the cake plate…that’s festive, eh? By the way, I’ve had that squash for a couple of weeks now. At what point will it turn into a gourd?

Now, see the pumpkins and pumpkin colored pear candles? Festive, right? This is year #3 for those poor candles. I haven’t lit them because the thought of having wax melting all over the place is of no appeal to me! Think of the money I’m saving! (I hope Mr. Wonderful is reading about how frugal I am!)

Do orange silk flowers count for fall decorating? And how about my new $3 garage sale collie, from last weekend?

Besides being beautiful, my hydrangeas give me fast and beautiful bouquets for months! (note the fall colored blossoms)

Well, there you have it. A couple of pumpkins and my 8 year old wreath and I’m in business. Fall decorating for your home in 15 minutes! Ta-daaah!

Gorgeous wreath and unique hanger I see. Love you inside decor, too. I see you have a silver trophy. I keep looking for a bargain on one. They are so expensive. Love the copper tea pot with the plant in it.

Good morning, Kim!, the trophy was actually won by my hubby’s uncle, when he was a teenager!

It’s all so beautiful Barbara! Can’t believe it all came together so quickly- you’re good!!
Love your Imari in the 2nd photo too- it seems so Fallish, and that whole photo is so inviting and beautiful.

    Happy Fall!

Now maybe Tyler can come live with Aunt Debbie since you have such a cute little ceramic collie. Your house is so beautiful and you did it all on a dime you frugal little shopper! ha ha.

Poor Abby would be heart sick if Tyler came to share her comfy abode!

Barbara – Your comment on my blog today was the funniest one I have ever received! Can I commission you to do a painting for my house? 🙂

Sure, Stacy! My prices are rather high, but for you, I can make an exception!
