Date Night at Home September 17, 2011
While I love eating out, isn’t it nice to just have a wonderful dinner at home with your sweetheart? Mr. W. And I had a busy, dirty weekend and it just felt great to shower, put on some sweet smells and set a beautiful table, while the hub’s grilled a mammoth New York steak, at a fraction of what Ruth’s Chris would have charged.
Sure, the scenario changes big-time, with little ones in the mix, but where there’s a will, there’s a way… Feed the kids first and bathe and bed them, or sit them in front of the current violence-free kiddie video and enjoy a little one on one time. Either way, it’s important to take a few extra steps to enjoy the home you work so hard for and the relationship that sustains you.
Enjoy!
Yes, I so agree. While we love eating out, there is nothing like a wonderful home cooked meal you worked hard on and set a pretty table and make it a cozy night at home with a delicious meal….thats the best and the older I get the more I appreciate these kinds of nights!! Thanks for stopping by, so nice to “meet” you!
Nice to meet you too! I’ve been following your adventure for a while, now. You’ll have lots of cozy spots in your gorgeous new home! Few restaurants will compare! It’s been fun, living vicariously through you!
Since our kids are still little, this is our favorite date…I love to cook so it’s a great way for me to experiment with new foods and we can catch up on the week with some downtime…it’s great!
I remember going out to restaurants with toddlers! OMG! I would always ask myself, “why?”, afterwards!
Oh that sounds heavenly and looks delicious too!!
It was! Thanks for stopping by!
That looks fantastic! The setting, the food. So great!
Hi Kim! Welcome to TTH! Yes, it was all the beef I needed for the week. Nice evening. I’m off to visit your blog. Have a great week!
