The Countdown Begins! December 19, 2019
Hello darling!
Can you believe Christmas is in just 4 days?! Amazing!
I enjoy thinking back about the incredible anticipation for Christmas morning, as a kid, who still believed in Santa!
The whole season was magical to me. I remember my parents excitedly saying they spotted Santa out the window, at night! I’d rush over to see, but was always too late, to see the man in red!
On Christmas Eve, after our baths, my dad would read The Night Before Christmas to us all. To this day, I can practically recall the whole story from memory.
Then, the hardest part was trying to get to sleep, knowing I’d have presents the next morning. We weren’t wealthy, by any means. Raising 5 kids, on a military salary must have been a challenge. So there were packages of new socks and underwear, under the tree and a few inexpensive toys. Still, it was my favorite day of the year.
After a wonderful day, when my very strict dad would relax a bit, I remember lying back in bed that night, so disappointed that I’d have to wait another whole year, for Christmas to return!
What is your best memory of Christmas, as a kid?
Now, where was I?!
We have been invaded by a large herd of reindeer! We tucked a bunch of these fellas away, early in the season, and re-discovered them today! So, if you visit the shop soon, you’ll see these guys everywhere. There are at least 30 reindeer and I need your help! Originally, they were $52 each. After discovering the herd, I lowered them to $39. With out 25% Off all Holiday decor, (including aprons, pillows and runners), the reindeer are just $29! Bottom line, I need 30 of you to buy a reindeer!!
I’ll carry it to your car and even wash your windshield! So come on and help me out! 🙂
New things are still arriving just about every day! Jill took this wonderful vintage cooler. She cleaned, sealed and covered it with a gorgeous new Iron Orchid Designs imgage transfer and voila! It would be cool on your wet bar or island, filled with sodas and adult beverages!
There is just one velvet Cut Loose tunic, in this style, left! It’s a “medium” but it fit me and I normally wear a large. (I love Cut Loose! I just wish their sizing was more consistent.) Anyway, it is gorgeous. Their velvet is machine washable, it doesn’t wrinkle and this piece is heavenly! If you love it as much as me, ask for 10% Off at check out and it’s yours! You’ll be the belle of the Christmas party!
If you have friends or family visiting, for Christmas, Pat has Sacramento aprons and toast for sale, so your friends never forget you and where you live!
This new necklace cracks me up! ($17.50)
While we are taking a few days off next week, we’ll be open this coming Monday, fro 11:00-4:30, in case you’re still on the hunt!
There’s lots more, including brand new jewelry, so I hope you’ll stop in soon! If all else fails, many of our customers are giving gift cards, for a creative class!
Well, that’s it for now Princess! And remember what my friend Karen told me years ago, if you’re having friends over. People won’t remember what you served, but they’ll remember how you made them feel. So enjoy the moment and don’t worry about a thing! Let God handle the worry part!
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your wonderful support! And brute to save your Christmas money and join us on Saturday and Sunday, December 28th and 29th, for our store-wide end of year sale!!
Always a bright spot reading your comments, Barbara! You and Jill are so creative and inspiring! You bring such comfort and inspiration to the neighborhood! May you have warm and nurturing holidays! Merry Christmas from my home to yours!
