Shabby Chic Give-Away! July 4, 2011
As you may know, I’m involved in a long-term “love affair” with lamps! I hesitate to mention this on line, knowing disclosures like this may come back to haunt me one day, but…
I visited one of my favorite vintage shops last week, on Palm Avenue, in Carmichael. There, I found a stunning lamp! It came with a bare lamp shade frame, which I understand is the new best thing, in shabby chic circles! I figured I would try covering the lamp shade.
After a quick reality check, I realized that wasn’t going to happen anytime soon. So I found the remains of a muslin painter’s drop cloth, that had been used to make slip covers and came up with a quick alternative.
Now, the only problem for me, is that I turned this elegant lamp into a shabby chic masterpiece!
I love an eclectic mix of styles, but shabby chic usually isn’t one of them. If you’re into shabby chic, this shade could be yours! Just email me, at Barbara@TheTreasuredHome.com and enter to win!!
Happy 4th of July!
Barbara-
That is so creative of you! What a great idea- love the lampshade.
I want to wish you a Happy Fourth of July and to thank both of your children for serving their country. And, also to thank you for the support you give to them so that they may serve. I love that you have an Army/Navy rivalry going!! That next football match up is going to be a fun time at your house!!
May they be blessed and kept safe.
with sincere gratitude,
joan
