Quick and Cute Memo Board August 23, 2011
At this year’s Designer Showcase Home in San Francisco, I saw so many beautiful things! The list is never ending! Since I’m planning and dreaming about turning my son’s room into a project/art room, I thought that this dry erase board would be perfect!
So, I kept my eyes peeled for a quick and easy version (in keeping with the concept that no project should take more than an hour or require instructions!). I found this framed picture at a garage sale.
I disassembled the picture, cut burlap to fit, and made the cute little pendants from my card making supplies.
I put it all back together, using a staple gun to adhere the backing to the frame and then stood back for a look-see.
Well, it was OK, but kind of simple/dull. So, being the lazy person I sometimes am, I taped up the glass and sprayed the frame black, rather than taking the whole thing apart.
This is genius. Pure brilliance. I need something like this for myself and I love this inexpensive version!

Thanks for stopping by, Abby! (Miss HGTV Design Star)! I wish I could say it was my original idea! I’ve seen it done with a darling bright yellow and white fabric background too…lots of options!
