I hope you’ll join me on my never-ending search for beautiful pieces, with history, for your home. Find my curated treasures, in Booth #154, at the Antique Trove, in Roseville, CA. ~ Barbara

We brought my console table, that I painted with ASCP old white, clear waxed, with a bit of dark wax in the nooks and crannies, along with some gold rub ‘n buff and it was a quick sale. 🙂 My cute little bench, with a coat of a fun Sherwin Williams enamel, was a fast sale, and two of my gold leaf mirrors sold yesterday, too! Yeah!…

You may recall, I found this new outdoor umbrella at World Market. The floral fabric is colorful and kinda fun! I’m hoping Wonder Dog remembers that the cushions are not chew toys! The hydrangeas are getting ready to pop. I have four more waiting to be planted. I got the Everbloom this time, that are supposed to have two or three blooms each season. This teak bench could…

The good news is that it started at the Sacramento Antique Fair on Sunday and I found a number of cool things for the shop, including this old rectangular mirror, shutters and large candle holders. I squeezed in some Craig’s list shopping.. Doesn’t everyone need some old paneled doors? I’ve been painting, too! This extra long side table, found at an estate sale, used to be “baby —- brown”. I like the new Annie Sloan coloring much better! I found these two corbels at Thrift Town for $8 each.…

These two lovelies are embarking on a new adventure, selling their beautifully painted furniture and unique treasures. If there had been a prize given, for most beautifully designed booth, these two, Heather and Ashley of Figgy & Flax would have been the winners, hands down! They’re followers of Miss Mustard Seed and have learned lots of tips from her on painting furniture. The branding, display and big smiles, are all their own. I’m wishing them oodles of fun and success!

Chances are though, that somebody close to you does have this disease. Until recently, I didn’t understand the challenges that many parents have, when they have children with serious diabetic issues. I know one mother in particular, who could barely sleep at night worrying that her son might go into a diabetic coma. Then, they learned about the miraculous dogs, that are trained to be life-savers. These amazing, lovable companions, are trained to identify and more importantly, act…

Case in point…this week I decided that I was going to make pasta, like we did in Italy, at our cooking class. It sounded like a really great idea. It ended up thick enough to stop traffic! I wish I had a better picture, but trust me, light and delicate would not have been appropriate adjectives. Next time, if there is a next time, I need to roll the dough quite a bit…
