I hope you’ll join me on my never-ending search for beautiful pieces, with history, for your home. Find my curated treasures, in Booth #154, at the Antique Trove, in Roseville, CA. ~ Barbara
Greetings!, If you are a lover of all things milk paint, or even curious about it, you’ll be in good company, with Stacey at Embracing Change! She was featured on Miss Mustard Seed’s Milk Paint blog this week. I think she could paint circles around me! Stacey lives in Pennsylvania, where to her husband’s dismay, she has a garage full of beautiful pieces, ready for her artistic touch. (That’s another thing we have in common!) “Perfectly imperfect”, is what Stacey strives for. She loves the chippy, aged patina, that only milk paint can provide. Drum roll, please! Here’s Stacey’s beautiful dresser, transformed in Mustard…
Read the rest >>Yes, those are my feet, at 7:57 a.m., this morning. Those feet are supposed to be at the gym right now, but I’m giving myself the week off from a schedule. I’m getting so much done! All the things that fall through the cracks, when life goes too fast. But, back to the story! This morning, doing what I love to do, cruising the Land of Blogs, checking out DIY projects, I met Paige, at A Junk Chick Life. She lives in Asheville, North Carolina and her rule for DIY projects is to never pay more than $5 for a paint…

It’s a gathering place, a place to play dominoes, or do homework. For me, setting the table and making a flower arrangement, for a special dinner is more fun than making the dinner! Who needs to eat?! As you see, these chairs aren’t antiques or even vintage. But I loved their shape and boy are they comfy! After gel staining them, with General Finishes’s Java color and recovering them…

Katy sent us pictures of her new kitchen! She chose “Rugo” blue, for the bottom cabinets and Bahaus Buff on the top. I’m seeing a lot of kitchen cabinets lately, painted in two or three different colors. Why not?! Katy is so excited and proud of her new kitchen, as she should be! We have a full Cabinet Finishing class, this Saturday, but now’s the time to…
Read the rest >>Greetings! I hope your week is off to a superb start! The shop got some deep cleaning, by “yours truly”, in preparation for Google photographers, taking a virtual tour of the shop, this morning. With two Classes this week, it won’t last for long! Here’s what we’ve been up to, this past week… A dear customer, was moving and generously donated this buffet to The Treasured Home! We layered Amy Howard’s Toscana Paint Powder over her One Step chalk based paint. As you may know, this is one of my favorite applications. So much more interesting than straight chalk…

Well, I’m excited to say that half of the spaces available in the Vintage Market have been reserved, by some very talented artists and treasure hunters! I’ll share more with you, as soon as I can, but I’ve been very pleased by the interest! To make room for the vendors, we’ve been selling lots of furniture. Yay! I’ve also done some serious space planning and number crunching and decided to significantly reduce the color selection, of the Amy Howard One-Step Paints. Having sold chalk style paints for nearly three years, I…

Renee and Alissa are the owners and I promise you’ll love them. Several months ago, Mr. Wonderful noticed the shop, even before I did! Since it was right on the way to our fixer-upper, I just had to stop. During one of my visits, I told Renee about Miss Mustard Seed’s Milk Paint and how…
Read the rest >>Greetings! With my efforts focused on the Tahoe renovation and the shop, I haven’t had much of a chance to give our home, here in town, some love. Last week, I found some time on my day off, to spruce up my son’s room. Guess where I shopped? Yep, you guessed it! If ever you come by the house, you may see a price tag, hanging from something. Just some added charm, don’t you think? If you’re a regular at the shop, you might recognize a couple of things! First of all, I brought the mirror home a while ago,…

No, I’m really not going anywhere…besides Tahoe, of course. I’ll continue to talk paint, teach classes, do custom painting work and sell special treasures, in my original shop space. Starting soon, the new space, added a year ago, will become a collective. It will be a place where a variety of creative types can sell their treasures. If it’s as successful as I expect it to be, the suite next door, will join in…
