News from the shop! April 17, 2024
Hello, friend!
I hope you’re doing well and enjoying the beautiful days!
Do you celebrate Mother’s Day?
If you’re still lucky enough to have your mom in your life, celebrate it! My mom passed away years ago and I miss her. I am certain she would be working at the shop, if she was still here. I would have gotten all sorts of advice and she would have had a blast!
If you are looking for a way to honor your Mom, I may have a couple of ideas.
Fancy Tote Workshop, May 11th, $25.00
We try to do a special workshop, for Mother’s Day each year and this is a nice one! Mom would like nothing better than to spend some time with you! We have just a very few spots left, so be sure to make plans soon.

Just a few gift ideas…
These Real Touch Tulip bunches have been quite popular and look so real!
At $9.99, these sweet tea towels make a sweet gift, that can easily be mailed.
Of course, you could always give an early Mother’s Day gift, treating her to Maker’s Day, on April 27th! (3 spots left)
In other news…
I returned back to Sacramento, late Saturday night, after almost a week in Virginia, visiting James and my son. I simply adore this little boy. Just like when our own children were born, it’s instant love!
I have a very heavy heart, because my son and his wife can’t make their marriage work. It breaks my heart. My children were 1 and 4, when their dad and I separated. It was the hardest time of my life and I prayed that they would find a way to make it work, knowing how hard the road ahead will be. If you have a chance to add them to your prayers, I would be grateful.
Until our paths cross again,
XO, Barbara
Oh Barbara~ it’s so hard watching our kids go through the machinations of adult life in these extremely challenging times. Know that things WILL get easier when the legalities are concluded and everyone;s feelings settle.
And with so much love surrounding that little boy, he will be fine. He’s fortunate to have you!
Be well,
Ivette
Very sad news Barbara. Yet another bump in the road that may slow us down for a minute, but I know you and your son and family will continue to move forward on your journeys. On the positive side, they stayed together long enough to present you with that beautiful little Grandson who will always give you great joy!!
Hi Lydia,
Thanks for your kind words! Yes, James is certainly the silver lining. Nothing will keep us from being a part of his life. One day at a time!
Oh Barbara….broken homes and broken marriages affect so many, not just the couple involved. It’s so painful to watch and our only resources are prayer and love. You have my prayers that this family will be able to work through the issues and become stronger together.
Sharon
Thank you for your note, Sharon. I couldn’t have said it better. Sad times.
Barbara, I will be praying for James and your son. Grace, Peace and Wisdom to you and your son.
Thank you Michelle! Having been down this road, myself, I know what’s in store. It’s never easy and I hope they always do what’s best for their son.
I will definitely keep your son’s family in my prayers. My parents were divorced after 25 years of marriage, it is never easier on the family. May they find peace in their parting and both be present in their son’s life. Your grandson is absolutely adorable and are so fortunate to have the love you and your hubby surround him as he grows. Much love,
Kathy
Thanks so much Kathy, for your kind note. It’s so frustrating and disappointing to watch. I just have to remember that it’s out of my hands. I’m praying that God will guide them down the right path.
Praying for you and your family, Barbara. ❤️ Patty
Thank you, Patty. So many unanswered dreams.
