News from the shop! April 5, 2022

Hello again!

Yes, it’s me again. 🙂

I was at the shop this afternoon, trying to make some headway on the zillion pieces of clothing that arrived.  When what to my wondering eyes should appear, but my little sister!

Miraculously, she offered to help hang these adorable pieces of fun.  If she lived in town, I’d put her to work more often!  Thanks, Susan!

Seriously though…

This is a new line and I love it.  I think it’s perfect for Sacramento because it’s a light weight poly/rayon blend that’s machine washable and lay flat to dry.  I also think it’s perfect for travel, because it already has a slight crinkle to the fabric and they’re no-iron.

In other news…

I heard many of you lament about the fact that you wished we still carried Uno de 50 jewelry.  I missed it too and decided to bring it back to the shop!

It will arrive within two weeks…just in time for Mother’s Day, of course, so I’ve got a small Half Off Jewelry Sale happening this week, to make room.

Then…

Since we’re already in the 70’s and 80’s, I thought I should cut the prices on these snuggly blankets.  Now just $49!

In other news,

Don’t be jealous, but I went to the dollar store and put this gorgeous hat together…because…on Saturday, April 16th, anyone wearing an Easter bonnet to the shop, will get 10% off their entire purchase!

I know that’s almost two weeks away, but I wanted to give you plenty of time to create your own work of art, or grab a baseball cap!  Either one works!

While we’re planning ahead…

I hate to brag, but I think we’ve got one of the best selections of potential Mother’s Day Gifts, in all of California!  Seriously, we’re packed!

Did I show you?

I’m trying to devote more time to the creative process and it’s good to get a brush back in my hands!

We’ve carried the new Iron Orchid Designs Paint Inlays for a while now and  you would have thought they had rabies!  They were scaring the heck out of me, so I had a talk with myself and decided to give it a go!

Yes, I know…it’s a small project!  But what fun!  It’s not a transfer, that sits on top of the paint, but rather it’s a brand new kind of product, where the IOD painted inlay melds with your painted surface.  I’m hoping to do a video soon.

Then… a customer and friend, Kim, gave this library table to me.  Before I tackled it, it was in pristine condition, with a dark stained surface.

Kim’s dad worked at Aerojet in the 50’s.  When some offices closed, employees were offered the office furniture!  So, Kim grew up with this table and I was honored to give it a new lease on life!

I painted the base of the table with Fusion’s color, Putty and then stamped the top of the table, with I.O.D.’s wood grain stamp and then glazed it with a grey glaze.  I love how it turned out!

Well, princess…

I’m heading home.  Mr. Wonderful is probably ready for dinner and so am I!  Thanks for being here and be sure to stop by, the next time you’re in the area.

We’re now open Wednesday through Sunday!

P.S.:  We didn’t talk about the craziness in the world, but why go there?  It’s nothing any of us can avoid…sadly.  Keep saying your prayers and stay safe.

Hugs, Barbara

XO
