My 15 Minutes of Fame June 5, 2012
While several of my blog friends have had the big national magazines feature their homes, I was thrilled to have “” “About Arden” magazine here, this morning, to do a feature article about our home. About Arden is a great local, monthly magazine, I always enjoy reading.
You would have thought the queen was coming to visit, as Mr. Winderful and I were cleaning and primping every crevice, this past weekend!
It was a good chance to get some little projects wrapped up that had been on the back burner for a while.
I had been wanting to get rid of the faux wood painted garage door (what, you don’t have one?) for a while now. I like the simpler solid color for a change. Someday the house fairy is going to bring me a real wooden garage door! (in a perfect world, there would be a photo of the newly painted door!)
Too bad they didn’t wear their white gloves, because this place is clean!
By the way, you’ll see that the Indian wedding scene has gotten back from the framer. It turned out pretty nice. I’m almost wondering if they forgot to put the non-glare glass on it. I didn’t expect any reflection. Any who…
Congrats on the article! You have such a beautiful home! I love to have company over…it forces me to clean…ha! Enjoy your day! 😉
This is so exciting, Barbara!! Your home is lovely and definitely magazine worthy. Doesn’t it feel good when every room is perfectly clean?!
It looks sparkling and lovely!

your home is beautiful! how exciting to have a magazine feature! you’d better get ready for some new clients!!
Barbara,
Thank you for stopping by Pine Cones and Acorns.
In answer to your question, the caramel sauce is the boiled can of condensed milk.
You take the label off of the can, put it in a large pot of water with the top covered about an inch or two over the top of the can.
Bring it to a boil and then turn it to simmer for about 2 hours.
Let can cool completely then open can and the condensed milk is carmelized.
Or you can take a short cut and buy deluce de leche already made in a can at the grocery store.
Hope this helps. I hope you come back to visit.
Elizabeth
