Look who’s here! May 26, 2022
Hello, friend.
I can’t begin to imagine the challenges and sorrow that meets these families, when they wake up today, tomorrow or the next day.
Of course, I’m talking about the families in Texas. How will they begin to cope? I can’t begin to imagine. I heard on a program today that 40 years ago, there were fewer gun regulations and more guns, but there was very little of the violence we see today. It’s all so very complicated, but it needs our attention. It needs to be a priority. Not just for the week after a tragedy like this occurs, but long term.
I could go on and on. Im angry and sad and I wish there was a quick fix to this very complicated problem.
And, then…
With all the sadness and tragedy in our world, comes a sprinkling of hope. If it weren’t for the beauty and new life greeting us, how would we sustain our peace of mind? What would there be to live and strive for? Let me introduce my very first grand child! Baby McCracken is probably smaller than a peanut, but I’m already in love! This is what sustains me and you.
This little beauty is due to arrive January first. I’m praying for an easy pregnancy and a healthy baby! Nothing else matters!

If you follow the shop, on Facebook or Instagram, you know that we spent the last few days doing spring clean up, at our place at Lake Tahoe. If you live around snow, you know that it takes its toll on a house. Our fix-it/to-do list is never ending and that’s ok!
The wonderful part is being able to enjoy the natural beauty of the area! I pinch myself, that at 68 years old, I’m tooling around the bay on my kayak! Since Mr. Wonderful and I are planning to be around for many years to come, we know we need to keep moving!
Especially with a grand baby on the way! 🙂
There are all sorts of places to kayak! In the Sacramento area, I understand that Lake Natomas is a great spot. If you’re interested in giving the sport a try, I recommend that you do your homework, before purchasing. The first kayak I used, had an older style back rest and didn’t offer the same great support as my Hobie. At this stage in the game, back support is really a game changer. Besides that, all you need is a good sun hat, rowing gloves, sunscreen, maybe some water and music on your phone! Oh and take your time. This isn’t a race!
Mr. Wonderful likes the power version and he’s in 7th heaven, being back on the water!
Back at the shop…
I’d like to remind you about a few classes I think you’d enjoy!
Last Sunday’s class was lots of fun! We worked with Iron Orchid’s new miniature frame moulds, and the Amazing Resin! Very fun!
We have another Decoupaged Tennie’s workshop June 11th and there are a few spots remaining in the class, so make plans
This Tray Class is scheduled for June 18th. Paint, transfers, wax and finally handles!
So, drop everything and join us for an upcoming workshop! Just go to: http://www.thetreasuredhome.com/lasses
As always, thanks for being here and supporting the cause!
XO, Barbara
