Furniture Painting Basics, Featuring Amy Howard’s One Step August 7, 2014
I’ve introduced a new “one-hour class”, covering the basics of furniture painting, with chalk style paint. Tonight was the first class.
Boy, did I underestimate the time required. One hour turned into two and a half! What was I thinking? Oh well, we had a lot of fun!
I like the concept of using old cabinet doors, to practice on…making a chalk board, that might be of use! I’ve taken and taught classes where you leave with several pretty moldings… But what can you do with pretty moldings? At least this way, the effort might be put to use!
I get the used doors at Habitat for Humanity’s Re-Store. It’s the same place, I proudly purchased the $95 dollar sofa, that I thought was perfect for Tahoe! Oops! Always make sure you sit in a used piece of furniture before purchasing it. Even though it looks great, there may be some issues.
Hopefully, tonight’s class inspired some folks to join the Furniture Painter’s Addiction Club (F-Pac for short!).
