Risks Have Their Rewards July 31, 2011

A few weeks ago, I was looking at fabric options, after staining an oak chair a dark walnut.

I considered a traditional fabric…

…but thought it was too “safe”. So I looked beyond my own fabric stash and found a leopard print, in an ultra-suede. This was not a slam-dunk fabric decision because recovering a chair is not an inexpensive proposal. With the cost of fabric and labor, you could certainly buy a new chair. (but where’s the risk in that?) So…voila!

Good for you!!!! this chair looks so fabulous and the other fabric?
Well, that can be donated, those days are long gone. I had a chaise that I literally lived on in this same fabric and it always looked great and lasted a good decade! Great choice, it looks wonderful!

Thanks, Jane! Maybe I can trade my old pasley fabric for one of the armoires you talked about today!

The longer the chair sits in our family room, the more I love it! 🙂
