Can you join me? February 12, 2024
Hello, gorgeous!
This week’s blog post isn’t about the shop, furniture painting, or baby James, but I hope you’ll give it some thought.
Last week, I joined my dear friend, Karen, to learn about Impact 100. It’s a women’s organization that supports local non-profits. There are chapters around the world, but each chapter is managed locally and all monies raised, stay right here in our own community, benefitting local non-profits. There are no salaries! All work is done by committed donors!
Last year was the local chapter’s first year. The goal was to gather at least 100 women who would each donate $1,000, with the goal to significantly impact one local non-profit. As it turned out, 217 women joined the pursuit, allowing two, $100,000 grants to be awarded, along with three smaller grants.
I love that the money stays local and that there are no administrative costs. They (members) go to great lengths to research and evaluate each grant application. I’m new to the organization, but I understand you can get as involved as you choose to be. There are lots of opportunities to support and volunteer.I just think it’s important to give back if we can.
If you’d like to dig deeper, you can visit their Website.
So, I’m inviting you to meet Impact 100’s local CEO, Evelyn Jensen, at my home in Carmichael, to learn more. Donations for the year need to be made by the end of the month, so timing is of the essence.
Here’ the scoop!…
If you can join us, please RSVP at your earliest convenience, to my cell phone number above. Thanks so much!
XO,
Barbara
