Greetings, dear friends! Tonight, Mr. Wonderful and I delivered the milk painted dresser to one of my brand new customers, Jana! It’s gone to a great home! Things were pretty busy at the shop today, but I made a fun bolster pillow out of what was formerly a rice sack! Pretend that there’s a great photo about ( ) here! I also prepped my new darling oak dresser for Grain Sack. Prepping just involves cleaning with TSP and removing hardware. Isn’t she cute? Just you wait! ( An oval mirror had been removed, prior to picture taking.) This morning, one…

If I’m not mistaken, I believe I’ve aged about 13 years over the last six months! My wrinkle cream can’t keep up! Cripes! Opening up a shop is not for wimps! Since my milk painted dresser sold in the first 8 seconds, after the store opened on Saturday, I needed a replacement…quick. My new BFF, Jennifer, came to the rescue! She’s a natural whiz with the chalk paint and a real doll! Isn’t she a beauty?…

The window decal went on today and I love it! This lovely bear, greets you, as you walk in the door! It’s painted by one of our local artists, Jean Lamour. Harry, the headless cowboy, is also on hand to greet you! I am tempted to take these preserved boxwood balls and the pedestal planters home with me! I LOVE these bird houses! The pennants are…

While my location gets lots of drive by traffic, I’m thinking about something to grab driver’s attention. I’ve got the sign for the window (white decal) going in tomorrow… …and a sign out at the street, that anyone driving 6 miles per hour should be able to read… But, what if I could park a ride like this one! Modeling, is blog-diva, Donna, of Funky Junk out front! These two are real beauties! I found one candidate on…

(I remember showing the space to a few friends before any work was done and I could almost “hear” the doubt.) Everything has just come together, though, almost magically…as though it was meant to be. (Yes, I believe in magic, thanks to the angels above!) Have you ever tried to make things happen and hit all sorts of brick walls? Not here! To bring attention to “natural paint” for sale, I sprayed paper m ché letters with spray adhesive and then covered them…

I know that many of you are photography experts that run around Photo Shop, like you’ve lived in the neighborhood all of your life. They say to know your strengths and that’s not mine. I need programs that require no more than three steps and wowzers!…I found it. So, continue to be thoroughly impressed with my amazing talents! We’re leaving the Big Apple, headed for that little college, with about 4500 wild and crazy students, in…
Read the rest >>Well, We just wrapped up another day, walking the streets of Manhattan. I’ve taken my partner in crime in all directions. Yesterday he opted out of shopping at the Salvation Army Thrift store. Smart man! I had heard that this shop had a great selection, thanks to Mr. Goodwill Hunting, on the Nate Burkas show. I thought “what the heck!”. I thought I might find a few interesting “smalls” that I could stuff into my suitcase. Not! They had these pictures on the wall for entertainment purposes, as you walked up to the third floor of this old warehouse.…
Read the rest >>Hello again, from the “Big Apple”! Today, we’re going to make our annual pilgrimage to ABC Carpet & Home. The place takes up two large old buildings, across the street from one another, on Broadway, in New York City. One building is all about floor covering. I skip that. The furniture and home accessories are all I care about! This is a Venetian glass chandelier with an antique mirror, behind it, wrapped in gauze! You wrap your mirror frames in gauze, don’t you? Don’t we all? While the picture misses most of it, this display is surrounded by white Christmas…
