Happy Thanksgiving, Good People! I hope this holiday brings you closer to those you love most.  Family, or friends, you call family. We’ll miss Andrew, who couldn’t make the trip, all the way from Virginia. Thank goodness for Face Time! Happily, Betsy will be home! I’m also thankful for my shop family, who has made my life so much richer. Truly wonderful women! Together we celebrate and share the creative process.  It fills my soul with goodness and purpose. None of it would happen without you!  Thanks for your encouragment and support, throughout the year. Blessings, happiness, health and peace,…

New Class: Aging a New Oak Tray

By Barbara Bussey | November 14, 2016 |

Hello, good people! There are still a few spots left, for Saturday’s new class, aging an oak serving tray! I’m kind of a tray junkie.  True confessions! This galvanized tray has been really popular, at the shop! I love how trays offer another layer, to a space.  More texture, more bang for your design buck! I used trays often, whether on a coffee table, kitchen island, or even in my powder room. So, when I found a raw oak tray, built in the U.S., by some of our wonderful veterans, the wheels started turning! Made of solid oak, this tray is…

New Custom Sign-Making Class

By Barbara Bussey | October 25, 2016 |

I hope you love this new class as much as I do! In a recent survey, you told us you wanted a sign making class.  You also said, you’d like a Friday night class.  Guess what? It’s here! I think this sign would make a wonderful holiday, wedding, anniversary, or house-warming gift! Don’t you? Robin, one of our vendors and a true craft-aholic, is a master of the Silhouette Cameo stenciling system.  Diane, who’s had the pleasure of making our stencils, in the past, has learned boatloads from Robin, about this machine. Robin was in the shop Saturday, creating one…

Image Transfers, with Amy Howard’s Copy Cat

By Barbara Bussey | October 6, 2016 |

This Saturday, we’ll host our first Image Transfer class, using Amy Howard’s Copy Cat.  What I like about this product, is that you can use it with both ink jet and laser jet prints. In the past, other products have required laser prints.  Since I don’t have a laser printer at the shop, this caused me to go else where, in search of a laser printer.  Bummer. It’s really a lot of fun!  You can use the product on fabric, wood or canvases, as we’ll do on Saturday.  Students will create three transferred image canvases that they’ll be able to…

Nah has been our reporter, from the station and she dives right in, to try things out. Try and join us if you can. We’ll raffle of a private painting class, have refreshments, new arrivals from our vendors and my small stash…

Coming Up at The Treasured Home

By Barbara Bussey | September 25, 2016 |

Greetings!, I think my body has finally recovered from my quickie trip to France.  I slept nearly 11 hours last night and hopefully that did the trick.  The old girl doesn’t bounce back, like she used to! _____________________ Great News! Thanks to everyone who voted and to all of our wonderful customers!  If you want to check out all of the winners, go to http://Sacramento.cityvoter.com. SACRAMENTO A-LIST – BEST OF 2016…
