News from the shop! January 13, 2021

Greetings, one and all!,

Well, today is a special day!  Today my mother is celebrating her 99th birthday in heaven.  Happy birthday, mom!  I can’t believe it’s been 19 years, since you  left this earth.  I am one of four “girls” in my family.  Some pretty stiff competition!  It was never Ozzie and Harriet at my house, but mom taught me about entertaining, creating a home, dressing well (when needed) and to say my prayers.  Happy birthday, mom!  I hope you and dad are having a marvelous time!

Now on to pressing news!  First up, Iron Orchid Designs
Sally and Josie, the IOD founders and sisters, are retiring many of their successful transfers, moulds and stamps, to make room for new designs!  Their goal is to change their design moulds, stamps and transfers several times a year.  Retiring some and introducing fresh new designs.  I haven’t seen the new designs yet and am looking forward to sharing that with you soon!

If you’re a furniture painter, who loves Fusion Mineral Paint, you owe it to yourself to purchase a True Color Card, for $1.95.  It’s a great resource, when planning projects.  Especially, if you’re an online shopper.  Colors on your monitor are never accurate.  Trust me!  I’ve purchased paint online before, with mixed results!

Speaking of Fusion, we’ll be getting the largest delivery, in the history of the world, this Friday!  Thank goodness!  Not a moment too soon!  All the way from eastern Canada!  If you’re new to our online shop, you can find us at www.thetreasuredhomeshop.com

For those of you with young artists in your life, Fusion has just released water based art paints, for children.  I’ll be adding these to our next order!

I spent the day at home today.  Gorgeous day! Most of it was spent on the computer.  Inside. Not my favorite place to be, but a necessary evil if one wants new product in the shop!  I’ve got new Democracy jeans ordered, along with fun new tops.  And jewelry.  Hats.  Good stuff!

I took a break, mid-afternoon and hosed off the back of the house. I should have used a power washer, but this was faster. And since I need Bob to assemble it all, it was way faster, as he was nowhere in sight.  I had our stucco home painted white a couple of years ago and every spider known to man, has told every spider they know, to hang out at our house!  This was long overdue and since it was a warm, sunny 60 degrees, it all worked out.  Now the windows need to be cleaned.  Dominoes!

Jennifer, my fashion guru buddy, met me at the shop on Tuesday morning and we spent hours mixing it up!  It had never dawned on me to arrange pieces, so you can visualize an actual outfit!  Who knew!  She also recommended some new purchases, so be on the look-out!

Well, gorgeous, that’s it for now.  I’ll be at the shop Thursday, Saturday and Sunday, if you need help or advice on a project.  Of course, the rest of the shop sisters are pretty awesome, too!  We’re all here to help!

Speaking of shop sisters, Susan Jackson is starting this Sunday, to help Michelle!  You may know Susan from the quilt shop that closed this past year in Old Fair Oaks. She’s also an avid furniture/cabinet painter! You’ll love her!

Until next time, wash your hands and say your prayers!
