1st Annual Vendor Retreat July 22, 2016
Last September, our first vendors moved into the shop. It was a good move! We now have six lovely creatives on board and their unique perspectives add more interest to the shop.
Since the Tahoe Fixer is almost fixed, I thought it would be a great place for a get-away. I think it’s safe to say we all had a great time!
After lunch at Sunnyside, we arrived at the house and unpacked. Everyone got their room assignments and a tour. It was fun to show off all the vintage pieces that had either been painted, or for sale at the shop. Both Jill and Diane remembered painting a number of the pieces and they enjoyed seeing the “fruits of their labor”.
I think that what makes the house so comfortable, is that the only new furnishings purchased have been mattresses and bedding.
We spent some relaxing time at the beach and searched for small pieces of drift wood, for the following day’s craft project.
Mexicam Train was up next on the agenda. Jill, who’s a novice at the game, came out as the winner!
Mr. Wonderful had made a big pan of chicken enchiladas the week before and frozen them. So all I had to do was defrost them, put them in the oven and throw a salad together. Easy and delicious!
We even had a belated wedding shower for Jill. The theme was sexy lengerie. Everyone had tasteful gift bags from Victoria Secret. Diane brought cake, so we could keep our sugar levels up!
Bob and I shopped at that very classy establishment, Kiss and Tell! Of course Jill had to model! Well, almost!
The following morning, after croissants, with Zina’s lemon curd and coffee, we headed out for a lovely walk. The weather was windy, but the skies were blue.
Saving the best for last, we got busy on our craft project; creating a driftwood covered hanger. Martha Stewart would have been envious!
This may look like a giant mess, but we had a great time making our works of art!
Hats off, to these wonderful women, who make the shop a better place and enrich my life!
