Learn how easy updating a gilded mirror can be when using Fusion Mineral Paint!

Taking something that is outdated  and creating a whole new piece with paint is so much fun!  That’s exactly what we were able to do when updating a gilded mirror in the shop recently.  The mirror had lots of raised details that made it a great fit for dry brushing.  Today, we are going to show you just what dry brushing was able to do for this piece.

Tools & supplies you’ll need to create the dry brush look on your home decor:

TSP by Fusion Mineral Paint – All project pieces need to be thoroughly cleaned before you add paint to the surface.  We like to use Fusion’s TSP on all of your project pieces.
Lichen by Fusion Mineral Paint – This is the color used as the base coat on the mirror.
Bedford by Fusion Mineral Paint – This is the color used to create the dry brushing details.

When dry brushing, you are highlighting the raised details on your piece.  You will need to be sure to offload the majority of your paint from your brush & don’t use a lot of pressure when applying.  This gilded mirror was the perfect example for showing just what dry brushing can do!

PRO TIP:  When hanging a heavy mirror, make sure you use a heavy weight wire. (I used 70lb. capacity wire).  Twist the wire tightly, at each point.
