The House Is Decorated…At Last! December 12, 2011

Well, I finally got the house “done up” for Christmas after Mr. Wonderful put the lights on the tree last night. I’ve done the lights plenty of times before, but you sure don’t want to be here when I’m doing it. We’re all better off leaving the nasty work to the mister!

I don’t change the look of my tree, year after year, as some people manage to do. Our tree is a collection of ornaments collected over a lifetime, which for me, makes it special!

20111212-184713.jpg My favorites are the ornaments, made by our kids, when they were young, complete with photo! I also love the ornaments given to me by friends and family and while traveling. Wonderful memories!

20111212-185006.jpg Our decorations in the living room are much more low-key. I’m not like some “wonder women” I know, who will remain nameless, who manage to put up two or more trees in their home!

I put Santa in charge in the entryway, making sure we have presents for everyone! Yikes!

20111212-185458.jpg Well, there you have it! (Yes, that’s a flag in the dining room, that needs to be hung outside.) Welcome to our version of Christmas 2011. Now, we can sit back and enjoy the Monday night football moment! Merry Christmas to all and thank you for stopping by!

Nice job Barbara…I threw some oranges with cloves in a dish and called it a day! Between the shop,a six day a week job and house one had to get the short end of the stick…rather pine branch!

I know what you mean! When you say “the shop”, which one is this? Have you opened your own yet? Hope you’ll still have time for a get together, when we come out next month! I’m looking forward to meeting you in person! Take care, Barbara

Beautiful family room! So fun to see your decorations. I agree with you about the lights – I can do it, but it’s better for all of us if the mister does it!

Oh, your house is lovely! I know what you mean about “wonder women” – my mother does three trees…a family tree in the main den, a “designer tree” in the living room, and a “fun/retro” tree on the patio by the pool. My favorite is always the family tree – full of all the ornaments we made as kids 🙂

Hello darling! So good to hear from you! The trophy was won by my husband’s uncle, in 1928! Yes, I love it too. I got a couple of velvet hunt caps at a flea market recently and thought of you. Enjoy the holidays!
