Sunrise at Lake Tahoe July 17, 2013

I’ve been spending summers in Lake Tahoe for fort-two years! Yet, I think today was my first chance to witness sunrise for myself!

Mr. Wonderful rises with the birds, between 4:30 and 5:30 a.m. Usually, I’m proud if I make it out of bed by 6:30 or 7 a.m. I have a real knack at falling back to sleep, after he gets up!

Bob has always talked about how great it is to witness the sun rising over the mountains. So, today I joined him!

Now, at 5:30 a.m., it’s rather chilly, so I got into proper sunrise viewing attire. Note the look of happiness, surging through by body!

Ever so slowly, the orange glow crept over the mountain top!

It really was a beautiful sight, even though I missed several key hours of beauty sleep!

All in all, it was a great way to end a week at the lake!

Blessings to you!

That photo of you tells the whole story! Haha. I’m sure Mr. wonderful was so happy to have you with him watching the sun rise, even if you were only half awake!

You’re the first to mention the goofy picture. Glad you enjoyed! 🙂

Oh my gosh Barb I literally laughed out loud when I saw your picture! …priceless

I think I actually pig snorted when I saw your picture. You are such a good sport to have your picture taken that early in the morning. Our husbands could get up together. I think early is 7:00 a.m. too. I did get up early at Hilton Head with my son in June to see the sun rise and walk on the beach and I must say it was awesome. Hope you had a good time on your break. You work too hard.

Oh I know it was painful but wasn’t it worth it….???…The sunrise was beautiful…I love to get up early and watch the gorgeous colors of the sunrise…I have a beautiful view of it from the great room…I remember getting up at 5am when we were in Canada (Lake Louise) to get pictures of the gorgeous sunrise outside our window…it was spectacular!

We go to Tahoe often for Christmas and skiing, but haven’t been there during the summer for over 40 years. It looks beautiful.

Oh, you’ll have to try it! It’s a great place to beat the Sacramento summer heat! Skiing’s not bad either! 🙂

beautiful sunrise. I spent many a summer in Lake Tahoe when I was younger. My parents still have a vacation home there but I haven’t been in many years. I miss the smell of the pines in the summer heat. Such a lovely place. 🙂

I hope you’ll be able to visit them there before long. “On Golden Pond”?
