Side-tracked at Carnegie Deli October 21, 2010

For me, the senses become more ‘alive’ here in New York city. Between beautiful sights, amazing clothing and accessory displays to scrumptious food and the latest home design showrooms, it’s so delightfully easy to become distracted!

Today, I was in awe, strolling through Henri Bendel’s 2nd and 3rd floor of costume jewels, scarves, purses and gloves! I almost didn’t make it there, with the “sales sharks” on the first floor, pushing beauty potions and fragrances. I’ve never seen anything like it!

While there, my favorite purchase was a pair of lime green gloves, that are extra long, so I can scrunch them at the wrist or wear with a 3/4 length jacket sleeve. The color’s wonderfully neutral, looking great with both black and brown.

Now, all this shopping can make a woman hungry, so a deli sandwich at Carnegie Deli was in order. The rare roast beef sandwich is so tender, you’d think it was prime rib. One sandwich will just about feed a family of four, so order cautiously if you come, and don’t leave without sharing some cheesecake! Yumm!

Our last “hurrah”, before leaving tomorrow morning includes Tony winner, “Memphis” about a white DJ playing black music in the 50’s. Should be great!
