Hello!,

First of all, for a really fun movie, treat…and we hadn’t been to the movies in months…I highly recommend “The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel”! Judi Dench and the entire cast was terrific!

While I love to travel, this movie certainly made me want to explore India! (At the same time, “real life” travelers have told me of the poverty and filth, so I’m on the fence about visiting. Have you been?) Anyway, enjoy the movie!

We spent the majority of the remaining weekend doing what Mr. Wonderful calls “working on the melon farm, doing honey-do’s!” Isn’t he clever?

I don’t have to tell you, there’s so much to do, keeping a house and landscaping, sprinklers, lighting…yada-yada…from falling apart. I can see why people say “less is more”, but I’m not ready to go there yet. 🙂 There’s a real art to balancing the act of making an aesthetically pleasing home, with really enjoying relaxing time in your home. Am I preaching to to choir here? Can I hear an “Amen!”?

I an effort to make the balcony off our master bedroom more appealing and shady in the morning, I brought in color, with a pillow, orange ($29.99 at Ace!) umbrella and greenery. It always works! Wonder Dog loves it out there!

Then, under the category of Botched Craft Project, I attempted to make my own hand-painted tea towels! I had seen how one of you incredibly patient and talented bloggers had done it so effortlessly, and decided to give it a try. If my time is worth anything, I think I would pay myself about 7 cents an hour on this one.

And this was the good towel! Don’t look too closely for the extra-decorative, random drops of paint! From now on, I’ll be just fine getting my tea towels at HomeGoods and Marshall’s! Thank you very much!
Finally, in case you, or someone you know, might be in the market for am antique (1920’s) sofa, with newly cleaned and replenished down cushions, and two matching chairs, please let me know! It’s in pristine condition. The french tapestry rooster pillows and green honey-bee pillow are included. We’re going to turn our den into more of a game room…or at least that’s the plan!

Well, I had better get a move on, before this beautiful day escapes me!
Thanks a million for being here!

Amen sister! We have such a huge yard, garden and the pool and it never seems to be all in control at one time. Then there’s the inside, where something seems to always need painted and updated. I love your sofa but I don’t need one and I’m not sure you could get it on the plane to Atlanta. You are always so sweet, showing your projects that don’t turn out. I could have blogs forever of all my crafts turned trash.

      Hi Gretchen!
It keeps us moving and I guess that’s a good thing!

I think your towel (s) turned out fine! I applaud your patience…
Your sitting area looks lovely…bright and cheery and I am a huge (new) fan of the color orange. I remember it was Frank Sinatra’s favorite color and I recall looking through an old book about his life (loved his music) and seeing a room in his home with his first wife, Nancy, decorated in the color orange and thought what a brave decor choice it was back in the 50’s! I think it looks especially beautiful paired with chocolate brown…
Hope you’re enjoying the beautiful, warm weather. 🙂

I’m with you on the tea towels. They are just too cheap to buy and then I wouldn’t even have time to go to the grocery store for those hard pretzels for dinner!!!
Thanks for the movie review. I saw the previews and it looked intriguing!
