Miss Mustard Seed’s Milk Paint is Now Available in Lake Tahoe! May 31, 2015
There’s a wonderful art collective and studio just south of the “Y”, in Tahoe City, called Salvaged, at 585 West Lake Blvd. If you love beautifully crafted, hand made pieces and art, I hope you’ll take a look, next time you’re in the area. Renee and Alissa are the owners and I promise you’ll love them.
Several months ago, Mr. Wonderful noticed the shop, even before I did! Since it was right on the way to our fixer-upper, I just had to stop. During one of my visits, I told Renee about Miss Mustard Seed’s Milk Paint and how I thought it would be a good fit for their shop. So, this spring, I packed up the most popular products and headed for Salvaged.

This is Alissa, trying out milk paint for the first time. She wasn’t quite sure what to make of the paint’s self distressing qualities. Her husband’s a professional house painter and the idea of wanting paint to chip off was quite foreign to her! She now knows that you can add Bonding Agent, or primer, to prevent the “chippy” look.
Today, Salvaged hosted a Paint Your Own Piece class, and I taught five lovely women, as much as I could share with them, over three hours, as they transformed their treasures, with milk paint.
I wish I had taken pictures, but trust me, we had fun!
