Latest Milk Paint Projects May 25, 2014
Everyone seems to have heard all about chalk (style) paint. But many people who visit the shop, have heard about milk paint, but don’t know what makes it unique.
Glad you asked! Milk paint is famous for what we call “self distressing”.
Milk paint, better than any other, creates an authentic old, chippy look. If you add the bonding agent, or primer, milk paint will stick. Chalk style paint, on the other hand, has a built in primer…so it sticks to just about anything.
When I selected this antique, two-tiered table, I looked it over “carefully”, to make sure I wasn’t taking a problem child home. Of course, I missed a minor detail.. It’s not the end of the world, but it certainly isn’t ideal.
The poor little thing is missing half of her foot. I always let the potential buyer know of these things, but it just makes me mad, when I don’t see them, until I get back to the shop. Yoo-Hoo! Anybody home!?
Even though the sweet piece has her challenges, the table tops were in great shape, so I left them as-is, and just painted the legs and center-piece, in MMS Grain Sack, followed by antiquing wax.
Her little cousin, the maple foot stool, painted in MMS Kitchen Scale, got a sweet make-over today as well.

There are a few people who would like to slap me if I continue to repeat that “Trophy is my favorite MMS milk paint color, at this time. Add some hemp oil and antiquing wax and you’ve got a slice of heaven, in my book!
Sorry, but I sent the metal stool with the new seat that Mr. Wonderful made for it, home with him, this afternoon, after I painted the seat in MMS Kitchen Scale. He had forgotten that I picked it up on the side of the road, near home.
Oh, the things you’ll do at this age, that you would have never done before. Love it! Remember, youngsters, pride and self worth come from within. It’s so much better to worry about what you think of yourself, than what others think of you.
That’s all for now. Love one another!
Love this 2 tier table Ana cabinet for color!!!
Could you possibly give a little tutorial on how you did that cabinet front? TIA

Cheers!,
