Imperfect Hearts, New Annie Sloan Color, Questionable Craig’s List Purchase & My New Veranda Find February 7, 2012
It’s been such a fun-packed week, so far, that I haven’t even let the rain and grey skies bring me down.
First of all, I always love a craft
experiment project, so, I’ve had fun making little heart pillows for Veranda’s Valentine’s Day Party, this Sunday, 10:30 till 5:30. Due to some other commitments, I won’t be there until about 1:30, but don’t let that stop you from having a glass of champagne without me!
These are some of my little heart pillows. The first batch was pretty hard to identify, so I call them my “Imperfect Hearts”! It turns out that they looked a lot more like hearts, when I stitched the pillows on the outside, with the stitching visible. I made about 25 hearts, using the stuffing I had from an old pillow I was no longer planning to use. the fabric was left over from other projects, so this was certainly affordable! Just leave a 2″ space, to stuff the heart and then, finish closing the seam.
Then, I found a great deal on some silver plate flat wear in Craig’s List. Just as the sun went down, I entered an apartment complex to make the purchase. I considered arming myself with pepper spray, but decided to just leave it in the car. I wasn’t going to go in to the apartment but that plan wet out the window too. Just as I was leaving, I asked the young
hoodlum man what he did for a living and he said he was a carpet cleaner. Just left me wondering if the silver had belonged to someone with clean carpets!?
Then, and remember, it’s still only Tuesday afternoon as I write this, Tami, the regional stockist for Annie Sloan Chalk Paint, stops by Veranda and brings me the brand new ASCP color, called Antoinette! It’s their beautiful new pink, that I can’t wait to try!
She’s an absolute doll! Thank you, Tami!! She’s amazing! Three kids, two dogs, Air Force pilot husband and she’s a painting contractor, on top of it all. Follow the link above to her site. See how she can paint anything that’s standing still! The floors I saw on her site are amazing. I want them!
Well, there you have “life as I know it”, here at the Treasured Home.
I’ll be slaving away at Veranda, on Thursday, so if you’re in the ‘hood, stop on by!
