Dining “Love” in Gramercy Park November 2, 2011

We returned to one of my many favorite neighborhoods in New York today, Gramercy Park, which is located around 20th Street and 5th Avenue.

There seems to be an abundance of interior design related businesses in the area, from plumbing and lighting, to gorgeous tile and home furnishings.

I stumbled on to a wonderful store, Lillian August, that is probably going to become my new fave, replacing, or in addition to, ABC Carpet and Home, when visiting New York, but more on that later.

We’ve enjoyed lots of wonderful restaurants, this trip, but so far, our “top pick” is Gramercy Tavern. Wait until you see the pictures and you’ll understand why! And the food was as great as the place was beautiful!

I love the art above the bar and the hanging lights.
Bob ordered the cheddar burger and I had a wonderful curried soup with fish and mussels. 20111102-182008.jpg

I love how they serve their house-made condiments and the butter with sea salt.

While we didn’t order any, their cheese selection was beautiful!

Now, a restaurant review isn’t complete, until you visit the ladies room. This “sealed the deal” for me!

And dried lavender hanging in the stalls.

I haven’t been there for a while, but the fall decos are gorgeous. I’ll have to get there in the next few weeks when I am in NY. Mr. W doesn’t look all that happy considering he has a huge slab o’meat covered in cheese on his plate!! I’d love to hear about your others. My niece and nephew just requested Max Brenner for chocolate pizza and chocolate egg rolls. Yikes.

Looks like you’re having a great time. Everything is so beautiful. I’ve been to Gotham City and enjoyed it very much. No news from the homefront.
