Need a vanity, darling? August 15, 2013

Have you ever sat at a vanity, to put on your war paint? I think my mom used to say she was “putting on her face”! Like there wasn’t a face there before!

It seems like all the movie stars used to sit at their vanity, brushing their thick, wavy hair. Or, applying their red lipstick. Ravishing!

I’ve never had one. A vanity, that is. Never had the money for one when I was younger and now I don’t have the space. So, I’m stuck at the bathroom sink! How sad!

This desk comes with a matching mirror and would serve as a proper vanity. You can always create your own vanity out of interesting surfaces.

This table would make a stunning vanity! Or, how about this gorgeous number, seen at last spring’s San Francisco designer’s show house?

All you need to be a glamour girl,is good lighting and a place to tuck your knees!

I’ve been a Bad Blogger, missing in action! I need to get back into my routine as I search for balance in this biz. Good to hear from you! Hope you’re having a great summer!

I love sitting down to “put on my face” and I have always found a way to do that even going so far as climbing onto a bathroom counter and sitting down with my feet in the sink to get an up close and personal to the mirror! Well, the day I fell backwards onto the floor ended my obsession of having to sit my rear end down to get on my makeup!!
I now no I must alway have a seat at a variety …..or stand and deliver thy face one!!!

Hi, I’ve been following your blof for a couple of years now…the shop has really gotten good and is looking beautiful!

I’ve recently realized I really want a secretary desk with a glazed bookcase. Not the federal/Chippendale style, but more an English, Georgian style. The real ones are $12K and up which is hysterically out of range for me. I’ve seen some that would work on Ebay, but they’re always back east and the shipping is murderous.

Then I saw your blog post today and decided to give you a shout to see if you might know of anything along the lines of what I’m looking for. I’d appreciate any help you can give me.

    Thanks,

    Ann

Hello! Sorry for the slow reply. I love a nice secretary and would pick one up if I found one at a reasonable price. Seems like everyone is disposing of their roll top desks these days! Totally impractical and a bear to paint. Stay tuned and thanks for following!!
