Saturday Morning In Mid-Town June 9, 2012
This morning, the girls were on the road, at 7:15 a.m.! While cutting into my beauty sleep, it was all for a good cause! Searching for tomorrow’s treasures, that’s what we do!
Today’s loot includes pillow fabric, that makes me happy, including what I think you’d call a toile. Very frenchy!
Next to the vintage khaki stripe, these two could get work together!
This blue and white stripe is from a French feather bed. It came complete with lingering feathers, and a trip to the beloved laundromat.
I also found a great chess board, and a couple of frames, to convert to note boards, to sell at the shop.
Now, one does not live on treasure shopping alone, so we stopped for breakfast, at a wonderful neighborhood spot, called Orphan Breakfast Cafe.
It’s a strange name for a restaurant, but the food is good.
Before leaving Mid-town, we stopped for a grand tour of Lynn’s daughter’s wonderful home, that I’d guess was probably built in the 40s or 50s. She’s done a beautiful job updating the home, while maintaining the charm.
Like all old kitchens, this one used to be enclosed. The wall was removed, opening it up to the living area. A gorgeous concrete countertop was installed, that should be perfect for entertaining and grabbing a quick bite.
She designed her own dining room table that was made using a an old Chinese door. The door is hundreds of years old and a metal fabricator in town made the joints for the legs.
This is the absolutely perfect spot for this new Pottery Barn clock!
Pretty cute abode, eh? It’s not big, but perfect for her!
I’m not sure if you can read the quote, but it’s perfect! (we’re never to old to dream, by the way!)
Have a wonderful Sunday!,
Barbara
Love that toile as I used to have it in my former house…! Sounds like you had a very nice day yesterday and thank you for presenting Lynn’s daughter’s home…loved everything…especially the table..beautiful!
More beautiful fabrics. I love the toile. The house you visited is so pretty. That’s what I want my kitchen to look like when it’s done. It’s pretty and she’s added those personal touches that make it her home.
Sounds like a terrific day! Lynn’s daughters home is lovely, the Chinese door as a dining table, so intriguing!
