Hello sweetness! Happy February!

We have been painting fools lately!  Here’s a quick update…

Mom and Dad would be proud to sit at their beautiful Henredon dining room table.  We refinished this beauty and deepened the stain, with General Finishe’s Gel Stain. The process brought back so many memories, of Sunday dinners and Mom’s grand dinner parties, entertaining their friends.

Mom would bring out the crystal, silver, flowers and china, to serve her delicious food.  (Guess who the clean up crew was?! You guessed it!  My sisters and Me!) She knew how to entertain!

(The picture above shows the table with just one leaf. Fully extended, eight to ten sit comfortably.  During its recent travels, one of the chairs was sadly damaged beyond repair, leaving just seven chairs.)

Here are two hand painted nightstands we finished recently. Traditional elegance.

I’ve been wanting to explore the wooly world of decorative painting and this television console was a perfect candidate.  We (Mr. Wonderful) are trying to adjust the doors, so they close easily, like they did, prior to painting.  Stay tuned. Could Barkley the British gent, be waiting for you?  Hmmm.

Another beauty, waiting to leave the back room, is Darline, the Art Deco delight.

What a piece! If you like Art Deco, you’ll appreciate the carving of the sun and clouds, trimming it. Beautiful original hardware, too!

The back room has more beautiful furniture, waiting to receive our complete attention.  Stay tuned!
