Charcuterie board ideas and more! April 2, 2024

Hello, darling!

How was your Easter weekend?  Wonderful, I hope!

I’m the middle of five “kids” and it had been way too long, since we were all in the same place at the same time!  Bob and I hosted Easter dinner to 16 and it was a wonderful gathering.  Everyone was well behaved (!) and the sun came out just as people were arriving.

You may have heard that Cheryl and I are hosting a Charcuterie Demo at the house on April 19th, at 5:00 p.m. I’ll be creating a board similar to the one below and Cheryl will be creating a board with more meats and cheeses. (The cost is $50 and $10 of the ticket price will be donated to the Sacramento SPCA….Max 15 guests)  My sister and her husband own Rubidoux Ridge Winery in Fiddletown and they’ll be pouring their delicious wines, for you to taste! There are a few spots left if you’d like to sign up here!

You’ve probably noticed that we’ve stocked European reproduction bread boards for years.  (Round and rectangle)  They’re large and make a beautiful presentation….but the size can be a bit intimidating.  Keep in mind that charcuterie boards are about a lot more than just meats and cheeses. I’ve even heard of hosts serving dessert boards.  The options are pretty endless!

As you see, I served hummus, with pita bread, cheese and crackers, deviled eggs, fresh veggies with Ranch dressing and orange wedges.  The board was filled with color, which added to the appeal.  Everyone loved it!

Play time, with new I.O.D.!

I’m never at a loss for projects to work on at the shop! Ordering and restocking is one of my biggest jobs, but today (Tuesday) I decided to have some fun, working with the Collage De Fleurs transfer.  It’s packed with 8 pages of amazing blooms and blossoms!  Endless possibilities with this one!

Isn’t this adorable?  We’ve painted Silver Plate trays with transfers, forever, but this is a new one to try! No, I didn’t create this…found it on my “home away from home”, the internet.

In the boutique…

We received deliveries from two new jewelry vendors.  I love to buy jewelry and think I need to step away from the computer, because I’m a little over-stocked.

We also received a delivery from a new-to-us clothing line, this week.  Just a few really nice spring sweaters!

Next week…

I’ll be heading back to the East Coast, for some time with James, my grandson.  He’s 15 months old now and I’m sure he’ll surprise me with some new tricks!  I’ll share some pictures, next week, I hope!

Until we meet again, happy trails!

XO, Barbara
