Bringing History Into Your Home with Vintage & Antique Pieces March 15, 2012
One of the things I find so fascinating about vintage and antique pieces in the home, is that they have this wonderful history. I wonder what kind of home the piece was in…if it was a happy home, filled with love, or something else.
Was the item purchased as a special gift, for a wedding gift, birthday or over time, on lay-away at the department store, downtown?
If I was starting to furnish my first home, I’d much rather shop for one of a kind things found here, at Veranda Antiques, at a thrift store or antique fair, than something mass produced, in cookie-cutter fashion, at Ikea or Pottery Barn. I’m happy to see more and more young 20 and 30 year olds coming into the shop, enjoying the “hunt”, as I do.
Be sure to mark your calendar for Our first “Veranda on the Lawn” sale, Sunday, March 25th, sun willing!
What treasure have you rescued lately? I’ll bet you smile every time you see it!
What ever you do this weekend, be sure you shop antique and vintage!
Best to you each morning!,
Barbara

I’m not really into vintage stuff and antiques but having a collection gives your home a super appraisal and an added attraction. Love the idea of having them 🙂
Hello Esmael and thanks for stopping by! Vintage and antique items aren’t for everyone. You may like them more, as time goes by. You never know!
Beautiful pieces…I always wonder about an antique’s history, too.
I can’t take credit for all the goodies! 6 of us share a cottage and it’s fun to see how unique each of our spaces really are!
